Just a little perspective about going with kids that hasn't really been touched on much yet... Food/juice/milk, etc... BWV is a nice place. However, the quick food options are a bit lacking when you have kids. There is the deli, but they don't have a burger, chicken nuggets or mac and cheese. There is the cart next to the boat launch, but it is slow. And yes, there is Yacht and Beach, where you can get a hot dog or mac and cheese, but that is a long go from the Boardwalk villas...especailly when the hangriness is setting in. Stormalong bay bar looks like it has those basic kid proteins, but whenever we have been there it is always closed...January for you I guess. so a quick search at SSR... Artists Palette and on the rocks...have Mac and then Chicken, main menu has pizza. Paddock grill has a burger and then chicken. I'm not saying I'd choose SSR, but having been at boardwalk with a 4y/o, keeping protein in him so he didn't suddenly get hangry there was more difficult than it was at say BLT. You never know when hangriness may strike. Thank you! Yes I have been disappointed in the available food offerings at BWV, and you bring up a great point about the protein. I have eaten several times at Artists Palette and have been very happy with the offerings and quality of food. I will be taking full advantage of that kitchen in the two bedroom though!! So good to hear the Paddock pool has some food offerings as well. Since we’re talking small kids, I would also consider naps and later evenings options. BWV gives easier opportunity to have one adult bring the kids during naps if you’re at Epcot, and also a quick option to watch fireworks if kids are in bed. But depending on the parks you are visiting it may not matter. Staying at BLT for us with young kids was huge for afternoon naps to not have to rely on transportation to get back to and from MK.

I had thought about that nap issue. But really I doubt they will come and go into the parks. I think if they ever leave, that will be it. But thanks for bringing that up!

Our October vacation we moved from BCV to SSR. We enjoy the preferred section and the walk to the Springs. The AP restriction led us to a true enjoyment of the Springs. The G+ restriction has basically relegated the parks to the rear view so the bus access from SSR isn't really a 'ding' any more, especially with the after 2p no park reservation needed.
I love checking in at SSR. They provide a ride to the room and help us with our luggage along with the groceries we have delivered in the AM.

We are another family that loves SSR and never does it with a car. Don't get me wrong the convenience of the EPCOT area resorts and monorail resorts is fantastic, but we generally still prefer to go home to SSR. We also always request a pool view room in the paddock section and so far over the past 10 years we've rarely been disappointed. The Paddock Grill also serves drinks and is extremely convenient. The walk across the bridge to the Carriage House is really not that far and with the bus stop being right at the paddock pool it's extremely convenient. Also we find being the 3rd bus stop of 5 is nice on the way in and out as you are in the middle and don't generally have to deal with full busses and don't have to drive around the whole resort on the way in or out.

Great to hear! Regardless of where we stay, it will be a tough vaca with the ages of our grandkids. We have never stayed at SSR so this will be a perfect opportunity. Thanks for posting!!
