I’ve given up on Lyft XL for airport rides. I’m 1 for 4 in terms of it working.
A few weeks ago we used it to go to the airport with my family of 5 and 1 big luggage’s and 3 carry ons. We got a Sienna minivan and it was fine. When we came back my Lyft XL was an older Mitsubishi Outlander. Lyft Xl is supposed to seat up to 6 plus luggage. At best it could seat 3 plus luggage. I ended up having to call an Uber in addition because I was unable to request more than one Lyft at a time. I was tired, chalked it up to the big luggage and moved on.
However today I requested another Lyft XL for the airport. A Kia Sorrento showed up. Technically it could fit 5 (but not 6) but not with any baggage. Not even one carryon bag would fit behind the third row. The driver was willing to cancel and I ten requested another and got a Toyota Highlander, also too small for 5 people with bags.
I tried to complain to Lyft but there is no option to complain about vehicle size. Very frustrating. We ended up driving and parking off airport. We are only going for a week so it’s not much more than what Lyft Xl should have cost and still less than a car service.
The experience was frustrating but I have a drink in hand and I’ll be in Maui soon enough.

We book Uber XL regularly... The XL no longer means what it is suppose to be anymore. When I want a larger vehicle, we have a guy/company. He has a brand new Yukon extended version and is great for four adults and our luggage. Its more money, but we get "Sam" and his Yukon....and get exactly what we expect. The company is called Sam Golden Tours. www.samgoldentours.com/For our upcoming Christmas/NYE trip, we have pre-booked 10-12 person van for our transfers. We have 7 people (5A+2K) with probably 4 full size bags, 7 carry-on bags and 4 back packs. At first blush seems expensive, but when you factor in the cost of two Uber XLs plus tips.....the cost is not that far apart. Plus, we are getting exactly what we want. The company is called......wait for it.... The Magical Express! themagicalexpress.com/

Yeah, that sounds like the way to go. My patience for travel headaches gets thinner than I age and has overcome my natural cheapness.
After enduring incredibly uncomfortable seats in coach in our United trip to Maui I decided to upgrade to the lie flat seats on the return.
To quote Murdoch in Lethal Weapon, “I’m gettin too old for this sh*t.”

I have had good drivers but I’ve had horrible drivers, that we are just going from resort to another resort for Dinning one would think that would be okay. No, it wasn’t. So this is who you use now? I actually did a search on the old forums because I remembered you recommending years ago limo companies you had used. I was not dealing with a crazed Uber driver on I4 getting me safely to my resort from MCO. Years prior we had used several limo companies and one we particularly liked years ago became not so great. When I went back to using a car service, I was much happier. I never liked being picked up by ME when we used it, hours before I needed to be at the airport. I4 is a nightmare and I am an admitted bad passenger ( lack of being in control) I don’t want to pay Uber for a nut job. In addition many are they really claiming they are driving their vehicles for business on there insurance policy? Even if they are, FL has the least insurable amounts that you can be legally insured. Bottom line you are screwed if god for bid something happens.

We arrive Friday and I've been lazy about scheduling and was going to Uber but this is so much better. I texted and they got back to me and said all they had available was their suv but that sounds great to us lol. I'm booked for arrival and departure - thanks again!!

These are great recommendations! We almost always rent a car, but it is nice to know our options. I am willing to use Uber/Lyft and have done so many times, but I still can't really get past the fact that it is app-based hitchhiking.
