Disney has a plan for that equation …..As Disney quietly increases prices across propertyi … It's supply chain. Disney bind you in chains while they supply things at ever-increasing prices...
Cheers.

Standard dining plan cost $94.28/adult per day…..wow! My math cannot get me there. Avg table svc entree' $45 Quick Service with drink $20 Snack $8 so $73 total on own without dining plan We do buffets a lot. They usually are 55-65.... even at that price it doesn't make financial sense. We have used the Dining Plan often in the past. I think we would come out about even, dollars and cents wise, in the end. It was convenient for us too. For these prices, DVC and AP discounts will be what we use. My thoughts are simply put. Folks were clamouring for the return of the Dining Plan, so Disney brought it back.

They should offer the dining plans a 10 day advance booking window .60+10 Costing Disney nothing… Do you mean an extra 10 days ahead, so 70+10? Since dining plans can only be added to onsite reservations you already have a 60+10 booking window.

So my son ( who we are taking to Disney with the grand kids) says to me yesterday “ Did you hear the Disney dining plan is back? Isn’t that great? Ugg…. I said “ Well you know we will have a full kitchen to make up food when we go”. He says” Oh the dining plan is so convenient! It will save so much time”…….😩

On top of the cost of the dining plan, I wouldn't want to have to plan my day around so many table service dining reservations. First you have to get the ones you want and then plan your day to make sure you have time to arrive at said reservation on time. We definitely eat at some table service restaurants, but we usually wait until the day of and see what's available. If it doesn't work out, we'll eat quick serve. One trip I made too many dining reservations and we ended up canceling several because no one wanted to be that tied down to the dining schedule.

We make breakfast in the room, we may or may not get a snack in the parks. Maybe something at Epcot. Then we figure something out for dinner, often a visit to DS and a happy hour or small bite. We may do one ADR per trip total.
We plan food around us, not the other way around.
Cheers.

Back when we went to Disney for our honeymoon in 1992, the dining plan worked out great. Years later (2008 was our next trip), sometimes the dining plan worked. As our kids get older and didn't have to come with us to dinner but could stay in the room or go to the local park, the DP wasn't as much use for us. We didn't want to get locked into meals every day planned out.
To be honest, skip the dining plan; instead, bring bac a more varied menu at different dining location, both table service and quick service instead of the "homogenized menus".
