We are flying rather than driving for July trip and will not have a rental car.
Now that grandchildren are older (no car seats, no strollers) my son-in-law is talking about trying to use car services for more transportation rather than Disney buses. Our group for most of the trip will be 3 adults and 2 kids 9 & 13.
Have only uses ride share one time a few trips ago.
Please share experiences using ride share for park opening and closing. Where are you picked up and dropped off? Also, may use for travel between resorts mostly for dining in the evening. Wait times? Cost to use? I sometimes need an EVC for longer periods at the parks. Would I be able to take EVC if I had the portable model that comes apart to fit in trunk or van? We will be at Boulder Ridge.

MK drop off is at TTC. Don't use rideshare in the AM for MK unless you want to take the ferry or monorail. When leaving MK, if you want to user Uber/Lyft, walk to the Contemporary and get it there. We've also taken the small boats to GF and Poly if we weren't in a hurry, then ordered the Uber/Lyft.
AK, DHS and Epcot pick up/drop off are fairly close and convenient to the park entrance.
Rideshare pick up/drop off spots are well signed, and if you're unsure, any CM can help direct you.
Check your credit card(s) to see if they have any Uber/Lyft promos.
Resort to resort cost depends upon time of day and distance. Figure somewhere between $10 and $20. Wait time once you request the ride is usually 5-10 minutes.

I would think that an accessible Minnie Van through Lyft would work fine, but you might have to stay in your scooter, as the car seats you are not using will be in the “trunk”. I believes that Mears taxis also offer accessible vehicles at the same cost as a taxi. For rideshares that are not specifically accessible, even if you fold up the scooter, with 5 you will need an SUV. The standard ride is for 4. In some, it will not be an issue to store a foldable Scooter, but in others, there will be limited storage space. Hope your trip is great!

What is stated above is excellent. Also beware of surge pricing at the end of the day, particularly around fireworks time. If prices seem obscene it may be worthwhile to wait another 15-20 minutes in the park/lobby and try again.
I usually check both Uber and Lyft prior to each ride. Generally within a dollar or two, but sometimes there is a significant fare difference.

I have a family of 6 and have only driven to Disney once or twice and never rent a car. We use Uber a lot. Because of your group size and the need to store an EVC, you will need to book Uber XL rides. At the busiest times the rides might end up being more than $20 including tip. It does add up over the course of a trip, but its cheaper than a rental car. And like johnb said, you get dropped off very close to the entrance of all parks except MK. Minnie Vans are more expensive. Its been awhile since I have booked one, but I want to say they are about double the price of an equivalent Uber or regular Lyft. We really like going this route rather than dealing with a rental car. It has been very rare that we have to wait more than 10 minutes for our ride. I usually book them as we are heading out of the park so they arrive at the pickup spot about the same time as we do. The HS pickup/drop off is past the buses and a little father out than Epcot and AK. And since you are staying at BR, use the ferry to go to MK (or buses) since you can't get straight there via ride share. Have a fun trip!

Re ECV (from WDW's Minne Van page):
Accessible Minnie Van Service
Any Guest can order an Accessible Minnie Van. Guests do not need to use the vehicle’s accessibility functions in order to book a ride in an Accessible Minnie Van.
Here’s How to Order:
Open the Lyft app within Walt Disney World Resort and enter your destination. Confirm your pickup location. Lyft will provide a fare estimate, and your payment will be processed directly through the app. Tap “Select Access. Minnie Van” (short for “Accessible Minnie Van”). If the option for Accessible Minnie Van service doesn’t immediately display, scroll through vehicle type options until it appears. Track your vehicle’s progress on a map provided by the app. You’ll also see the vehicle number to help you spot your car. Accessible Minnie Vans include the following:
Seating for 5 people One complimentary car seat (which can be used by one of the 5 passengers) 2 spaces for mobility devices (Guests may remain in their mobility devices for the duration of the ride) There is a maximum capacity of 7 Guests per Accessible Minnie Van.

We used the Minnie Van Service about 2 weeks ago, though we didn't need an accessible minnie van. We used it for a trip from BWV to Typhoon Lagoon. We mostly use the bus transportation (except when we walk to Epcot or HS). However, we didn't want to have to transfer buses at Disney Springs to get to Typhoon Lagoon. There were 6 of us - 4 adults and 2 children - one in rear facing and one in a forward facing car seat that they provided. Both drivers, there and back, were very friendly. The cost was about $30/each way. We ordered the minnie van as we left the room and waited just a few minutes. On the reverse trip we waited less than 10 minutes - I was expecting longer since it was raining and a storm was rolling in. I wouldn't pay for this as a replacement for every time we would take a bus - but I will definitely use it when I need the convenience.

I usually check both Uber and Lyft prior to each ride. Generally within a dollar or two, but sometimes there is a significant fare difference. We were coming home from SFO a while back at like Midnight. Uber was about $145! Lyft was about $92. This can be had for about $65 in lower times, but $92 is not bad late at night. $145 was obscene. So, yes, always check both.
Cheers.

Just a side note, there are very few Minnie Vans that can transport a scooter. You will have to per-arrange or use the Disney buses.
