I have the video of Live Aid and Freddie is transcendent, as is Sir Bob Geldof. I couldn't tell you how many times I've sat and watched that Queen performance on youtube.

I do not bring a tripod so am always limited to my "human tripod" for good quality shots like your firework shot. Which means, there will almost always be blur killing the quality. There are those little tiny tripods one can get, with flexible bendy arms, you could then get it set on a railing or something. Or if the arms are a little longer, they can wrap around poles etc. I have been known to position a mini tripod (which, when folded, takes up about the size of a small plastic water bottle in my backpack) on top of a Disney garbage can. It gets the job done.

au contraire, mon Henry!
Your A7ii has stabilization built in. My night fireworks photo above was done hand-held with almost identical equipment that you already own...the A7Rii and the 24-105 lens. If I can do this, YOU can do this. Just don't have too many margaritas beforehand....stabilization can do only so much

Yum now you are talking my language! Uh oh, margarita thread drift!
I'll go...we took a 45 minute road trip recently to La Crosse, Wis, and by the checkout the store had box wine, except it wasn't box wine, it was margaritas! Three liters for $8.99! So I got one and stuck it in the fridge.

We were in that tequila cave one time, it was so crowded we ended up at a table with another couple, who were maybe in their early-mid-30s. Later we joked that maybe they were swingers but the guy was one of these who would never stop talking, like he just went on and on and on and on. I don't even know what. If it was less busy in there I probably could have had another three margaritas easy while this guy went on and on. And since we are from Minnesota we were way too polite to stand up and say, "well gotta go, see ya"

We did a cruise to Alaska three weeks ago... Who did you end up sailing with? We too finally got to do Alaska. Based on some of your old MouseOwner advice (i.e. "Princess owns Alaska") we went with Princess. And when it came to the land portion of the tour (Fairbanks to Whittier) Princess did own Alaska, and I can't imagine any operator would have done any better. However, once at sea we were underwhelmed by Princess. At that point we wished we were on Royal or Disney.

Since we all pretty much use digital photography so there is basically no limits to the number of pictures we take I am sure that I am not the only one that comes home with hundreds if not thousands of pictures from our trips. So here is my question to all of you that return home home with a ton of images, what do you do with them? Not what can you do with them but what do you do with them?
In my case I have just finished sorting and editing the hundreds of photos that we came home with after spending almost a month in Europe. In our case I select out several hundred edit and then up load to flicker so we have remote access as well as we can run them on our tv in the family room as screen savers.

So here is my question to all of you that return home home with a ton of images, what do you do with them? Not what can you do with them but what do you do with them? I don't anymore. I used to and then decided that I'd rather enjoy what I'm doing then spend an inordinate amount of time looking at it through electronics. Now, I look at things and occasionally decide that I have something worth capturing. Then I look, and maybe 30% of the time decide that it just doesn't look as good through the lens and don't even snap. 2-3 pictures on a good day. Maybe a dozen in a particular location with a lot to offer.
Then I just download and archive. Usually don't look at again.
One thing I have been doing is screen backgrounds. I use dual monitor on my main computer and have it set to slideshow, separate per display. I take landscape-formatted pictures and add them to the folder. For me, good ones are rare. But the ones I do decide to keep are really nice.
Cheers.

I have been using Nikon for a long time. I started with a Nikon F Photomic but now go digital. My current travel camera is a Nikon D60 with a 18-55 mm and a 55-200mm lens. On the last trip the whole family stayed at the poly( miss the spirit of aloha show) and only took 1751 pictures. I use a mac, so i download all my pictures onto Photo. Once I have all my pictures I create a new album and add music. Any time I miss my happy place I just watch the 44 minute album.

My daughter sent me a framed Skylight to store those treasured memories. Best present ever!
Also they have all of their images to stream on their big screen TV and shared it with me to watch whenever I am missing them . It includes video and music . Best time to share are during the holidays!

Why, I keep them on my phone of course. I have intentions of uploading to an album and displaying as screensavers and/or one of my 2-3 obsolete digital frames that should still work. Intentions...
