We always bring our firestick with us. Never had an issue connecting to usb port in BCV or SSR. However, VGF, I can never get it to connect. My son's switch works, but not the fire stick. Ugh! I asked for help from tech support and they were equally as stumped:(

I am unsure if this could be the issue. Sometimes the usb ports on the Back of the tv don’t have enough power, so you need to have a firetv power cable connected to have it work. We had issues at one resort (can’t remember which) that we were unable to get a stable WiFi connection to the firetv stick. So, less TV more ipad on that trip.

When we were at SSR last time it was impossible to access an HDMI port on the tv. Another time, I think at VWL only HDMI 1 would recognize the fire stick, other ports would not.
SSR is set up with ChromeCast. We were able to access some of our stuff, but I would have preferred to be able to use the fire stick. Do any other resorts have ChromeCast?

Gra d floridian uses chrome cast. You have to plug into the hdmi on the chrome cast box and hit hdmi 2. This works for gaming systems but not for firestick nor hdmi to computer to try to access from computer to tv

Update. So for those interested in using your streaming stick...At VGF you have to connect to the TV through your phone. download the streaming service app onto your phone (eg Netflix) Connect your netflix app to the TV. The tech guy at VGF showed me how to connect. So in short - yes you can use your streaming service, but it is not through the firestick, but through the individual apps (prime, netflix, disney+, ect). HOpe this helps anyone planning to connect their streaming service. My son's Nintendo switch connected via the cables (place the hdmi into the back of the chromecast box on the top of the tv, and change input to hdmi 2). The tv will connect to the switch.

We had problems with our Roku stick last visit also. Main problem was just Wi-Fi stability.

Think we will stick with just watching whatever is on when you turn the tv on. Or….go to the pool!

Think we will stick with just watching whatever is on when you turn the tv on. Or….go to the pool! Same for us with one exception--Vero Beach. After the pool closes each night it's really dead there. Last year we watched that Catch a Smuggler show almost every night before bed. Not my choice, but there wasn't much to choose from. I could've used some Hulu or Netflix as a change of pace.
