Disney needs to give back to its guests. I have a long, long list of things that should (need) to be done to bring back that Disney experience.

You know, maybe it's just me, but every time the last couple years I read an announcement along the lines of,
"EXTENDED EVENING HOURS RETURN!!!!"
and then I find out it is at two parks, for four specific evenings...

I don't want to sound like a jaded old-timer...but come on,
"HERE'S FOUR NIGHTS THIS FALL YOU CAN STAY LATE AT ONE CERTAIN PARK!!!!!"
I need one of those things you blow at New Years that is a roll of paper that unfurls and makes a horn noise.

and then I find out it is at two parks, for four specific evenings... Well la de frickin da Isn't EEH almost every Monday and Wednesday? That's ~104 days a year. I think that's awesome. Adding HS back into the mix will be great. Surely this is a test to see if HS draws the late crowds, and if it can pull people from EPCOT in the evenings, and if Wednesdays or Thursdays do it better. You can't just "ok we're opening HS every day for late!" type of thing you have to test a few days and analyze what works. It's been my experience that HS clears out by late afternoon so hopefully there is demand for this. I'd love to have some nights to stay later at Animal Kingdom too. |

Glad to see this for our week in October. Was still unsure which night we'd be doing HHN at Universal, the 11th or 12th, and now looking more like the 12th for that, 11th at HS,

So I went looking at the Disney site and the 'standard' EEH schedule is not available past September. Our next WDW vacation is late October and the only HS EEH is our first night. The very last thing either of us wants to do on our first evening is hit a park. LOL. We like to spend our first night relaxing in a lovely themed bar absorbing being in WDW and anticipating what we'll do the next day. I liked the old days where every park had a late night on certain days of the week. In March upon our disembarking day I scheduled a TRON DVC experience (once again, only day I could schedule). I didn't tell DH about it until we were on the bus, heading for the resort. DH instantly shrunk about 2 feet and started to pout. Before any sound could erupt from his lips I said, "We've been sitting on that ship drinking for 3 straight days. Let's just see if we can make our reserved time and then the rest of the day, and vacation, we can do whatever." It was hard for him, I could see the effort he put forth, but he restrained himself and when we got into the TRON line there was a big smile on his face. He admitted it was a great start to our land portion. And then we hit the Tambu Lounge.  |

On our Christmas trip we stayed the first night near the airport for a change and then headed to WDW the next morning. First time we’ve done that, so we went to MK first, back to the villa at OKW and then headed out to DHS for the evening extended hours. It was so good being able to knock out MMRR, Rise and the Falcon that first night with no planning. And looked around GE too. All those were new to us. I’d seriously consider doing it if you can. Sleep in the next day if you want, but it was really worthwhile for us. |
