Earlier this year I started magically losing weight, it was awesome! I decided it was because my wife was away quite a bit, visiting her mom who was in the hospital at the time. So I was left to my own devices which basically meant a Taco Bell burrito pulled out of the freezer as a mid-morning breakfast, something easy for a later dinner, and snacks of peanuts and pork rinds throughout the day when I got hungry. And not eating much bread. Wow the weight was coming off and I wasn't even exercising. It was awesome.
Well I take that back about the exercising: I wasn't "exercising" per se but I was single-handedly doing all the construction for our house remodel and moving all the furniture out.
Then one day, a month or so later, it stopped. Then the weight came back. Darn.
I could definitely do better insofar as food choices, some walking would be a good thing (or other activities) and calories from liquid refreshments of the adult variety add up quickly. And generally being lazy doesn't help!

I have to say we're campers at RnC however DH keeps a good eye on the surrounding people. He motions people up to the bar so they don't feel they are waiting for us to move. We move around to the area next to the swing doors into the eating area.

I'm trying to understand your story. There was a couple at the bar inside where there had been bar stools in the past (so not at the walk up area in the corner) who were standing at the bar enjoying their beer instead of taking it to go? Sorry, but I don't see a problem with that at all. For a while the bartenders were telling people they had to leave (post Covid) but they stopped doing that. IMO, space at the bar where you can put your drink down is exactly the same as table space. What they did was unexpected for you but they were not rude. FWIW, you did exactly the right thing to go around them and flag down a bartender.
I'll be there next month so I'll have to give the Snake Bite a try! It sounds pretty good.

We are on a healthy kick too, since March/April. Day-to-Day, we have been doing well....nothing crazy, just better portions, better choices, being more active. We are both down around 18 pounds since. But vacations and special occasions, we loosen up and enjoy the moment. These past few "summer" months have been mostly a maintain mode but September is nearing and we will be able to get into a better routine again. Getting old sucks. I started the intermittent fasting thing. So I have first food/drink at 11am and am done by 7pm. My SIL is doing it and lost like 20 pounds. But she did a whole program that some lifestyle guy she sees told her to do. I just started the fasting. She also only eats protein, fruit and veges pretty much. I eat small portions of whatever. No snacking or fried foods and such. I've lost 5.5 pounds in like 5.5 weeks. I need to do more walking but it's so hot here. And my foot and knee is bugging me (yes, getting old sucks!!!!).
