Returned from our first trip to Kidani on 8/19. Stayed for 8 days in standard view room. Have never stayed at AKL before and we are trying to bridge out and stay at different DVC resort when we can to try new things. Definitely loved the resort and activities! So much for the kids to do and they had a blast seeing the animals and participating in the free events/educational activities that are offered. Never had a issue with the busses/transportation and the restaurants are awesome! The cast members here are so friendly and outgoing as well. Pool and splash pad play area are great and have plenty of seating in the shade thanks to the beautiful greenery. Had only 2 issues. 1. The pull out sofa was by far the most uncomfortable one I have slept on. Had to call down to get a mattress topper after the first night. The first night I improvised and just put the couch cushions on the bed and slept on top of them. 2. Housekeeping was never informed our room had been checked in. Thought something strange was going on when they were not picking up our trash but knew for sure on the 4th day when we did not get towel service. Otherwise we had a great time! Park attendance was definitely down but still steady. Have to believe the heat index of 108 degrees while we were they had to be a factor for locals I am sure. Kids had a blast and are already asking to go back and stay again.

Kidani is one of my favorite resorts, especially on a heavy pool use trip. Love the lounge area in the morning when I get up early. Love Sanaa.....That bread service! We have never had an issue with transportation to/from the resort, except for the one time we went during a Marathon.....won't make that mistake again.
Glad you had a great trip! We like rotating our stays at the many DVC resorts.

Kidani is pretty awesome! It's been a while since we stayed but looking at options next summer. Really an underrated resort. Glad you enjoyed your trip.

I love AK - it is just so relaxing. The only thing with Kidani are the long hallways if you end up at a far end

I was never one of those AK people. I honestly had no desire to stay there. We were at the opening of AK Park. So not until a few years ago, did it peak my interest. My son was in college and DD and I caught great airfare and went to Daytona for a couple then to Disney. They had Kidani opened.
I had actually booked when I had extra points for rent people and they stayed there. I love giving tips etc to my renters but AK I had nothing, which I told them and directed them to forums but most did their own research.
Well it was last minute, never had stayed and there was a couple nights at Kidani. We did it. Honestly from never having stayed there and with no desire, members since 97. We loved it. We had a savanna view which I feel is worth the points. I never thought I would like/love a resort I never had an interest in.
My husband and I went before we moved in 21 and they had that open, I wasn’t sure how he would like or dislike. Again, savanna view. He loved it! He got so into the animals and which ones were which.
To Looking up about their habitat. So a place I never desired to stay all these years has become a favorite.
The bread service is to die for, lol. Glad you enjoyed.

Kidani was our first Home. We bought it in '08 and didn't stay until '10 for a night pre-cruise. We loved it and have returned there many times now.
