A few months ago, it was decided that wife and I are taking my mom to WDW with us, and my sister is coming too with her family. We went with three separate rooms, rather than one villa etc. So I went ahead and made a reservation for wife and I, another reservation for my mom, and another reservation for my sister (and her husband and two kids).
Except, when I made the reservations they are all just in my name. Like it looks like wife and I are staying in three rooms at the same time. Like I'm royalty or something, booking a whole floor at OKW.
So now the trip is getting closer and I need to proceed with making everything work correctly. I'm looking for advice on what I need to do.
Like for my mom's room, do I just add her name to the reservation and when she checks in, is it actually me "checking in" and she's my guest?
And for my sister's family, if I add them all to the reservation there would be (wife and I) + (the four in that family) = six people which I assume the Studio at OKW will not support. I could remove my wife's name, leaving five, but then the next problem becomes that of charging; I don't want them or their kids charging stuff to the bands or whatever and it's going on my credit card.
Or do I need to actually call MS and have the reservations changed to their names instead of mine.
I'm not worried about my mom, actually, she's 75 and will be hanging out with wife and I most of the time, and I don't expect her to do anything by herself. Wife and I will be at the resort before everyone else, so I figure when they arrive we will be like "yay you are here!" and then we just get everyone settled in their rooms and then my sister and her family can run off and do the stuff that energetic people do, and my mom will chill with us and do what chill people do.
Question #2 then in this scenario is related to the first part: what about MDE and accounts and all that jazz? My mom will, like I said, not be going anywhere by herself and probably won't even be charging anything to her band (if she even has one) so part of me says the easiest thing to do with her is add her to my MDE? or something? I mean for 100 years my wife and I only had one MDE account, we only had to create another individual account when they replaced the Blue Cards with the virtual wallet business. If I DO have to make her an account, it's just going to be me doing it because computers and phones and internets are only things she knows exist but does not involve herself with (and would have no idea how to do it). But maybe she needs an account for her park tickets?
I'm assuming my sister and her family will need an MDE account. They will be off doing their own thing most of the time, they might even buy that Genie Plus people seem to buy. It has not been determined if they will continue to come to WDW. They have been DLR people for a number of years; we talked them into this so we could do a thing with my mom.
What's funny is like eight years ago we did this with my wife's side of the family....do I remember any of it? No. No clue. The only thing I do know is that when I log into my account, or make a dining reservation, their names are in the list of people I could choose from to have on the dining reservation. But I don't remember if they made their own accounts or not.
I figured my esteemed colleagues here would have some suggestions, in fact I know it has been discussed here in the past!
