Robin and I flew into WDW on Thursday night, for Labor Day weekend R&R.
We had some really good meals during the trip and thought I would share.
Friday, we met Linda and here daughter in MK and ate at the Club Lounge for lunch. The Club has lite fare, not a full sit down like the Disneyland Club.
Friday evening, Robin and I had dinner at Narcoossee's. This was the first time back since the remodel of the restaurant. Disney did a great job, eliminating the elevation change at the bar, which also opened up the floor space. The Kitchen is no longer to the dining room as before. This meal was amazing! One of the best meals we have eaten on WDW property.
Saturday, we met up with Linda and her daughter again, with her husband and the world famous Brian join us at Brown Derby for Lunch. It has been quite a few years since we have dined in the restaurant and was not sure what to expect. The last time we were here the food was ok, not bad or stellar. Plus, I don't really read much buzz about the restaurant on other sources. Lunch was delish and The Brown Derby was a hit for everyone....even Brian.
Saturday evening, Robin and I was suppose to meet Brian for dinner at Il Mullano, but I ended up not feeling good and had to cancel. Luckily, I got a good nights sleep and felt better.
Sunday ended up being a pool day. We had rented a poolside Cabana at VGF for the day. Lunch was poolside from the pool bar menu.
Sunday evening we did not have any dining reservations. Originally, we had planned on going to Epcot and eat around the World. But after leaving the pool we decided to shower, dress and head to Disney Springs. Well, while waiting for Robin to finish her hair and "stuff", I feel asleep and Robin let me sleep for an hour before waking me. So with that, we changed plans again and decided to head to Steakhouse 71 and eat in the lounge. I love the smash burger here and it never gets old. No reservation ever needed and is one of the best burgers on property.
Monday was checkout day. We was able to grab a Space 220 reservation for lunch. We were excited to try this restaurant, given the hype about the experience. We have seen a lot of mixed reviews since it opened. Our meal was really good. Not Narcoossee good, but god enough to want to go back. The atmosphere is cool, like eating at Coral Reef but seeing Space and not Fish. I will say that the meal was quick, they certainly can turn the tables at this place.
None of our meals were duds and I would easily recommend trying them all. The best was Narcoossee's which is a current must get ADR. If I get time and find a hosting sit, I will upload some food porn!

World famous? That’s new.
Il Mulino was quite good as well. Better with company, of course.
Agreed on Space. Prefer the fishies to space any day, but food much better at Space than Coral.

Thanks for the reviews, I'm always interested in where to eat. And, glad to hear that Steakhouse 71 is a good venue. We've been trying to get there for a while but it hasn't worked out with all the Disney kids and grandkids. Next time that it's just DW and me it's definitely going to happen!

Can you expand on the “ Club”?

We were at OKW from Sunday through Friday. Crowds were light at all 4 parks (Tuesday-Thursday). Keys to the Kingdom on Monday. Our tour guide was Hunter. He was informative and conversational. We did the 8 am tour. Rides were easy to get on to for our 3 parks days. Walked on to Avatar, Safari, Test Track, Remy, and Soaring. And I mean walk on-no wait. HTH,TSM and ROTR were 20 minute waits. We had dinner on Monday at the Yachtsman. Dinner was excellent. We’ve never had a bad experience there. We were fortunate to have Barry as our server-3 times in the past year. If you’ve had him wait on you, you know what I mean. Pure class. Wednesday night took us to Toledo at the Gran Destino Tower. Again, an enjoyable night that will have us returning. Great views from the lounge and the menu offers something for everyone in my group. Reasonable as well and excellent service from our server Florian. Only downside for the week was the poor (bad) pretzel at EpCot/Germany. My wife has a thing for warm soft pretzels and for some reason, they just can’t deliver. We went in to Sommerfest at around 2 pm figuring that they might be able to deliver. Nope. Once again, the Baseline Tap House saved the day in the pretzel department. Excellent Sierra Nevada Oktoberfest to boot.

Baseline Taphouse is on my next trip list! Thanks for posting.

The weather stayed dry due to Hurricane Idalia not curling back in to the east coast of Florida. The sun was hot, but there was a breeze. Mid 90’s in the middle of the afternoon. but the light crowds gave you plenty of free space to duck in to get some a/c. Nights cooled off nicely. And the light crowds had no more than 10 people in the main pool at OKW at 3 pm. We usually take one of our 4 annual trips in the 1st week of September. For one, the lighter crowds. It’s also our anniversary week (40 this year) and we get to be kids again. It’s only a 2 hour ride from St Augustine and the Pixie Dust annual pass is a great perk. Being closed out of the parks on weekends and holidays is just fine with us. Baseline is always a great stop. I remember stoping there during their first week of operation. Lights, Motors, Action! and the Backstage Pass had recently closed down and Star Wars Land was still on a blueprint. I told the bartender that the spot, when Star Wars was completed, would be an oasis. No kidding.

Haven’t done Yachtsman in years, unfortunately our server was not that good and we felt very rushed. Whereas I was expecting a nice relaxing dinner being outside of the parks. Haven’t written it off but sometimes first impressions stick with you a while. So thanks for the reminder, to put that back on the list. Empty parks and walk ons are always a plus.

Come on Disney, add a real pretzel offering.....every mall and airport has one, why can't you? Baseline Tap House is the one.....and at Disney Springs go to Jock Lindsey's Hanger Bar.

I've also seen mixed reviews, but we enjoyed our visit in May. We are not interested in the prix fixe menu due to the amount oif food, but we we did standby forthe bar and it was quite nice. We'd go back, although we didn't get a chance this past trip.
Cheers.

Sounds like a fun trip! I’d love to see the “food porn,” even if it’s nothing I would likely try. I’m counting down to 10:30 am, October 5, 2023. I’ll be at the Anandapur Ice Cream truck, waiting for “brunch!” 😂😂😂

As we’ve discussed, it ain’t just Disney, it’s all of central Florida. We need a Philadelphia Pretzel Company franchise. None of that Auntie Anne’s shit.
