Greetings
BLT had a viewing area only for DVC members, I think it was call Window of the World. I most likely have that wrong. My understanding is that it is now a bar with a new name. Is it still restricted to DVC members or can anybody attend? Do I need reservations? How does it work?

I believe you are referring to Top of the World Lounge. It now has paid events. I don’t know all the details as we don’t follow that kind of stuff but hopefully others can add input.

There are paid events on some evenings every week, which include a reserved table, food and a drink included.
You can also be put on a waitlist to be called up to the Lounge and sit at a table. Not sure what time that opens, I think we went to the podium at about 6pm and were told to come back around 6:30pm, maybe 7pm.
And you can also just go up to the viewing area about 30 minutes before the fireworks.

I’m not sure, sorry. We like to spend the evening up there. I think there was a queue of people at the bar so I assume they were from the terrace. |

When BLT first opened we enjoyed TOWL. Since then DH is getting picky about draft beer. TOWL only has bottles (which he drinks just fine at Boathouse). Our other pass for TOWL is they generally have terrible mixed drinks, or the bartenders we've had over the last 8 years can't make a decent mixer. If we do decide on a nostalgic visit to TOWL we order drinks straight up. It's worth a visit if you've never been. The fireworks, IMO, are better viewed from the Contemporary and the Contemporary Outer Rim makes a good mixer.
