We're 4 weeks out from our October fall break trip, and getting excited. Staying at BWV except for the first night, and the thursday night we do HHN.
DS and I are doing 1 night at Sapphire Falls. I'm watching as many vlogs as I can to prepare. It takes some planning for sure. We did splurge on express for the night, so hopefully that will help with some of the lines. I also plan to do Scream Early/be in the Stay/scream area, probably near Stranger things, but will see. I'm trying to track wait times each night and get a better idea of how the crowds are moving.
Just wondering if anyone was going this year or have been? have any tips?? or recommendations? Getting so excited for all of it! See you in the fog.....

So I’m not not familiar but I think Halloween horror nights are at universal. I have no clue but my nail tech and his husband are experts. They love it went on their honeymoon last year after getting married. Collect all the stuff, ie shot glasses ornaments. Almost everyone of his clients order him things from universal, including me. He also loves Disney. Grew up going there. So I will gladly ask away. We talk about it but I just like hearing about his trips which him and his husband are going for anniversary, this October going to dis too. He knows the ins and outs as they have been going for years. They love Halloween so always during that and sometime other times. To me, he would be my end all as they have done it for years if I was going. So I will gladly get you any info. The food is themed to horror nights. It’s just so crazy and beyond belief the stories he tells me. They are very detailed oriented I would say in a different way from Disney. But maybe now that comparison isn’t true as to the complaints about Disney parks.

I"ve been the last 2 years, but every year, the popular houses change, so would love to hear any and all tips on strategies to tour them, what their favorite houses are, etc. and yes, any good food and drink recommendations! the food/drink lines get SOOOO long, so want to only try and get the good stuff. I plan to stay out as late as possible, last year I made it to 1:30, after my son bailed and went back to the room, ha! We got hooked 3 years ago, after many years of hearing/reading about it. Thanks again!!!

Good call on purchasing the Express pass. yes! they are ridiculously pricey, but last year, I vowed not to do HHN again without it. Still hope to do a few houses standby, and then use express later to repeat, but will see. Lines were insane last year. We do go at one of the busiest weeks-Columbus day week, so anything that can help, I'll do it!

Some year I’ll garner up enough interest to give this a shot. Just hasn’t excited me yet.
I have visions of me cursing out one of their “scarers” and ending up in Universal jail for the evening…

If I can ever convince Hubby, I’ll give it a whirl. I think I would love it! Unfortunately, I don’t think it’s on his “to do” list…

The contrast of crowds from Mid-week to the weekend are crazy.

Thanks again!!! Hi there didn’t forget about you. So was my nail appt was today and I asked. Told him you were interested in food offerings. Here’s his list of what’s on their list. Pizza Fries, he feels they are okay but said his husband has to have them. I guess they have it every year. But for his list of what is new. Carb Evil Dog Bloody Campground Poutine it is made with pork so if you don’t eat pork he said they have a vegan version. The House (this is all out of my league) is the last of Us, which will have the Infected Taylor. That’s on his list, he mentioned something about chucky’s I forget what that was, the above one my left hand was free I typed into notes, lol. Because I knew I wouldn’t remember. He did mention there is a burger but will probably split because it’s mixed with jalapeños and I’m sure if this was the same dish but topped with fruity pebbles? Not sure if they will have it this year but last year, they had a funnel cake with crabmeat. He thought it was gross, his husband love it and had two. He did say there are drink ((alcohol) options but wasn’t sure if you wanted that. He said wdw.com has a universal link where can pull up the menu. He follows a lot of Utube (influencers) I still laugh when I hear the word influencer. But they were invited to premiere the foods. One couple he watches is on Utube is. The Pugh Two. It may be Pugh’s as in plural. It’s a husband wife team. So, enjoy yourself, hope this gives you some ideas.

I plan on getting pizza fries, but I'll be adding the bloody campground poutine to my list for sure!! (and working on that drinks list-hope to get a blinky cup and try a bunch of them) I need to make sure to check the locations on the map. They are spread out all over the place, and I need to figure out who sells what, etc. Looking forward to Last of Us for sure. I love the Pugh two, found them recently, and they are so sweet/down to earth. Thanks again for getting the info/opinions. I"m getting excited!!

Home in TN from our fall break getaway. Halloween Horror Nights was awesome! Almost every house was incredible for scares and theming. Maybe just 1 dud. IT's totally worth a trip to the dark side to experience if you even like horror movies, scares just a little.. We did our 1 night, Thursday night, w the express pass, and I think we were done with all houses by 10:30. Plus did a couple rides on MiB, Gringotts, and enjoyed butter beer ice cream in Diagon Alley. Deatheaters were roaming around Diagon Alley and interactiving. They were great to watch. Scare zones had lots of actors working, and lots of interaction. What I'd hoped to do was to either stay until closing, or freshen up in the room, and head back, since wait times go down a lot in that last our, but my feet and knees were SHOT. I mean, I could barely hobble around the hotel room, and had shooting pains in my feets. Almost 29,000 steps that day. the walks from the exits back to the entrances are still the most insane. Favorite house by far was The Exorcist. It had everything. Creepiness, scary scenes, jump scares, incredible details and theming. Stranger Things was also great. the line for ST was often 100 mins or more, and people started lining up at 3 for the 5:15 opening. it was nuts. Express pass cost more than double the price of the ticket, but it was worth every single penny. Wish my tired old bones hadn't given out so early, but I had a blast. If I can figure out pictures, I'll try and load some, but I still have issues w/ them.
