We are a party of 4 - me, my husband, son, and his fiancé.
-We have 1 night AK 1 BR club level room booked for the last night of a 5 night trip, checking in Saturday and out on Sunday. -Our departure flights are for later in the evening on Sunday and we plan to spend that day at the pool and taking advantage of the lounge. -I have booked an additional studio for 2 nights that is not club level to give son and fiancé a separate place to sleep and their own bathroom, checking in on Saturday and out on Monday. -On Sunday, we will use the studio to keep our luggage and owner’s locker with us for the entire day, as well as take a shower and change prior to leaving for the airport.
1. What is the best way to arrange the guests on both reservations so that all four of us have access to the club lounge, but one couple sleeps in the studio? In all reality, none of us really care which couple gets which room so we are flexible in that sense. 2. If I list them by their nicknames in the studio, does the nickname version of the couple have to have a My Disney Experience account? Or can they just check into the room and receive a key card, no need for a magic band for the nickname couple?
Hopefully some of you have experience with this scenario. Regards, HoosierMinnie

I’m not verse in this but in reading Sue’s reports I think she may add them to her studio reservation. Since you are a party of 4 that can easily be done. You may want to read her last TR which I believe she was at AKV concierge, to see how she did it. Not sure how often she is on here between trips, you may try messaging her or posting tagging her user name. Good Luck and enjoy.

I believe you put 2 names on the club reservation that are fake that are different from their real reservation and get them keycards to use in the main elevators to get up to 6th floor. I’d assume nicknames work.
I think you need the nicknames on the 1br though so their magic bands work on their studio room.

I would put 3 of you on the Concierge reservation and 1 person in the studio. That way your son or DIL will get elevator access to the lounge for them both.

Only issue might be late hours if they attend as I think they are staying longer but I’m not sure. Early entry they usually only ask for how many in the group. Park reservations won’t be hooked to a resort stay either if the dates are different.

Thank you all for the input.
The main question left is if for the couple sleeping in the non-concierge studio…I add a nicknamed version of them to the concierge room, do I also have to create an MDE account for the nicknamed couple in order to be able to get them key cards to use the elevator (or get into the club level 1 BR to access the kitchen if needed).
I guess an even more basic version of this question is: Is everyone who stays in a Disney resort hotel or DVC villa required to have an MDE account, or is it possible just to check into a room and get an old fashioned key card without one?

No. You do not need to create a nicknamed MDE account. No, not everyone who stays at a resort needs an account either. You can get them a key card.

We did it last time. I put DH and I on club room and 2 family members booked a standard room on their DVC membership. I then used their middle and last names on my club level room resies to get them key cards. Went with their middle names in case they had to show ID (ID has their full 3 names). They never had to show ID and I got their key cards when I checked in.

They never had to show ID and I got their key cards when I checked in. That's exactly right. The real names of the people need to be on the reservation of the studio they're staying in, so everything else will work for them. Then, make fake names in your reservation for the extra people. Sometimes I just spell the first name differently (Holly rather than Holli). When checking in, since the fake people don't have a MDE account they get key cards. That way their magic bands will work for their room, their park admission, their charging, etc. Sorry it took so long - I hadn't checked in here in a while! Sue
