We are up in Orlando for a long weekend. So, on Friday around noon we decided to try and snag a dinner reservation at either Rosa Mexicana or Narcooses. We had NO issue at all, every 15 minute slot was open. We grabbed a 6:30 pm slot hoping it would work after getting to MK at 2:45pm with the kids, and that we would not be exhausted (and trying to get the kids asleep at a reasonable hour).
Got there on time, seated within 5 minutes (if that). We had a great server named Josh. Food was great and did not disapppoint. Our oldest 9 year old had, from the kids menu, Grilled steak, Mashed potatoes, and the Nemo cupcake. Our youngest 7 year old had, from the kids menu, Mac and Cheese as the main, with grapes/strawberries as his side, and a Nemo cupcake. They ate so much of the real food, they ate barely a half of their cupcake. DW and I both had the Lobster Bisque, and the Sea scallops, gnocchi, peas in a light cream sauce (something like that). I enjoyed it so much, I overate, and was miserable trying to fall asleep. My bad. lol. Wife ate half of it, and loved it (other half came home with us).
The bill after DVC discount was around $200 (DW had a margarita and I had a grapefruit beer). Tipped our server nicely, as he was really good.
All in all, this restaurant still remains as our favorite (since we couldn’t stomach the food and service at Ale and Compass), and we will continue frequenting the restaurant, hopefully next time to watch the water pageant as well as the fireworks from our favorite window seats!

We'd certainly get that, and then likely split a main as usual. This does sound like a future visit destination.
Cheers.

Any news about if the porch in front is still open to all resort guests? There were some reports that this was the case after the first reopening and it pretty much blocked the view from the restaurant.

I am not a big seafood eater, but I know my husband would enjoy it. May need to try it on our next trip.

When visiting there again, the main lobby just seemed so nice for hanging out. And, as we spend afternoons outside the park, I could see bringing a thermos of coffee and sitting reading a Kindle for a while.
Cheers.
I’ve done just that with a purchased drink (coffee or water or something slightly more alcoholic, ha) and my cell phone many an afternoon. Was even better when the orchestra was there, of course. in fact I have a Christmas Eve tradition of sitting in that lobby watching all the happy families taking pictures by the tree. Slightly bittersweet for me lacking the family, of course. But still feels like exactly what I should be doing,

We were planning out our dining choices for our Annual Christmas-NYE family trip. We have Narcoossee's on the short list.

We will see you over the holidays, as usual. We are changing things up this year and going to Epcot for NYE. After 15 NYE celebrations at WDW, this will be our first in Epcot.

Very true, for which I am forever thankful. Ooh, didn't realize you were doing an Epcot New Year's Eve this year. Works for me!

We will be around as well, kids in tow. We won’t be doing the late night stuff due to their ages, but hopefully we can meet up too, if the stars align!

Well, our visit may not be from a GF base as our reservation chances look more tenuous as time goes on. From only one night of the four missing, now only one is available. And this is during a lower point time in the first part of May, so the thought that people may be walking reservations through is less than likely.
Oh well, we shall see. And the original BCV reservation is still there.
Cheers.

I had a Waitlist for our May trip to move to VGF. It looked bad a few days ago with 1 of 4 nights available (and had been this way for a week). Checked this morning and it was available. Waitlist had not triggered, so I did it myself. In fact, still available even after my booking.
Odd that this was not available for a while and now multiple rooms are available. And that the Waitlist didn't hit. It likely would have by now, but I cancelled it after I rebooked.
Stalk the RAT!
Cheers.
