I saw this cool Halloween article showing AK park celebrating Halloween with the animals, then I was like wait.....they have giant tortoises?
Ok....I have been to AK Park well over a hundred of times. And not once have I ever seen the Giant Galapagos Tortoises!
Where are they and why are they hiding?
Here is the article

I think they are along one of those pathways around/under the Tree of Life that aren't signed/marked.

I have never been to San Diego, but I do know that they have one of the best zoos in the US and World.

Yeah, the Galapagos are the actual islands. My brother-in-law went with his wife and loved it. We do plan on going. Lots of logistics and time involved, hence waiting until retirement.
Yes, San Diego Zoo is amazing. Portland is pretty cool, too. Fabulous elephant enclosure.
AK is still much fun, though.
Cheers.

We always see them! Just make a hard left when you leave “It's Tough to be a Bug”. They’re right there.

Always love when Disney shows the animal enrichment activities they do, Very cool, indeed.
Don’t think I’ve ever seen the tortoises there in person, either, Perhaps over the next few months of decent weather.

If you turn right at the tamarind monkeys (across from Starbucks) they are only a short distance.

It is pretty cool, we have seen them give the Gorillas a birthday cake (made of veggies) and this year the Manatees also got Jack o lanterns for Halloween. One of the old back stage AK tours use to go through the animal food prep area and I wish the produce at our local Publix was as good as the stuff they feed their animals.

Going tomorrow…I need to look for these. I don’t think I’ve ever seen them either.
I think I saw a sign for one at Kidani, but I’m probably dreaming on that one…down by Sanaa.

See them during Spring or whenever mating season is. You can't miss hearing them.
