Just going to say it. I hate all white bedding. It's too thin and not comfortable. I like the coloring and wall pics though. I am totally with you on this. I want my old DVC decor back in every way……. Okay I admit I do not want OKWs teal and pink. But I want cozy bedding that is not one size fits all.

We had an "old" 1 bedroom last week and boy was it worn! It had the all white bedding. But I am looking forward to the refresh - particularly in the bathroom. BWV is our home resort and I love it there, but I actually missed SSR due to the run down feeling of the BWV room. And I really appreciate the new thermostats - the old slider is iffy - in fact ours wouldn't heat and it got pretty chilly one night last week. Maintenance fixed it but it was chilly for sure.

We had issues with ours even I think 10 years ago. Or somewhere close to that maybe more. I never understood why they kept those thermostats so long in BWV. We have a trip planned in May into June and I'm looking forward to seeing these new rooms in person then.

Oh and this just in from my special insider here Actual modern thermostats (IYKYK) Hahaha it’s the little things that bring us pleasure!! We had exactly the same thermostat in our stay at HGVC in Waikoloa. They had an interesting addition to ours (that will likely not be necessary at Disney): They had a magnetic reed sensor switch on the door to the lanai (like the ones used for alarms). If the door was open (for example, we would sit out there for breakfast/dinner and to hang, and leave the screen open), it triggered the thermostat to shut off since it made no sense to cool the outside world.
These also did have the dreaded motion sensor, so it may well turn off during the day and at night.
Cheers.

72 is too warm for my liking,,, Had a refurbished studio a couple weeks ago and quite enjoyed it. Boring modern always works for this guy. Like the Disney artwork, too.

And I really appreciate the new thermostats - the old slider is iffy - in fact ours wouldn't heat and it got pretty chilly one night last week. Maintenance fixed it but it was chilly for sure. Over our NYE trip with had an old 2br standard view. It was very worn, not enough electric outlets and also very dark. They must have been using 25 watt bulbs. After 4 days of that we switched to a refurbished 2br Boardwalk view and it was really night and day. It was so much brighter, ample outlets and everything was fresh and new. I think we may have been the first people to stay in the room. The toaster and coffee maker had definitely not been used and the drawers still had some of the original packaging intact. I loved the Disney artwork and touches. The drawers in the furniture are much smaller and don't hold as much but the furniture overall fits better and makes the room feel more spacious. The pulldown bed is way more comfortable but my kids did not love that it was more of a full size mattress than a queen size so it's a lot cozier for two people. Also, did not love that there was no lock on the bathroom door, especially for the bathroom that has two entrances. Other than that I though the refurb was very well done. Even the never ending hallways were much brighter with Disney artwork touches.

It's a long shot, but I'm hoping that a refurb area will open up and there will be no reservations for those. Was very disappointed to hear that F&G is ending early! I was hoping for some good concerts to drop in on

BWV is one of our home resorts. After seeing the pictures of the one bedroom, I'm anxious to see the grand villa. I've got a 3bed GV from 2/29 - 3/4, so I'm crossing my fingers it's refurbished. My bigger concern is if they call and want to move us to another resort. We really want to be at BWV for this trip. I do have a GV at SSR for our first night, so I'll get to see the differences between the two.

I've had bad luck with concerts anyway so that's okay but the orange smoothie will be missed in June.

They said all the grand villas were already refurbished.

Boulder Ridge Villa has the same type of treatment and we love it. The drip coffee maker and Kerrigan combination is a nice touch.
