Well.....I am disappointed, 2026 is too far out.
Disney CEO Bob Iger will 'definitely' step down in 2026; succession process 'robust'
Disney (DIS) CEO Bob Iger said the company is hard at work to find his replacement.
While speaking at the New York Times' DealBook Summit on Wednesday, the executive confirmed the succession process "is robust right now," adding he will "definitely" retire at the end of his contract in 2026.
He also said management has been working hard to avoid another Bob Chapek fiasco.

Disney is sinking fast. I bet they are in a “ robust” mode to save some face not to mention their stock price. Are there any new faces in the mix?

I think Staggs is a great and obvious choice for CEO, but as I see it the real issue is there needs to be a CCO, a Chef Creative Officer to work hand in hand with the CEO more of the roll Katzenberg or Wells played in the 80s and 90s.

Really good point. The CEO should be running the company and handling the operations and numbers. But, in a creative company like Disney (is supposed to be), there has to be a prominent ideas person who is close to the CEO, and to whom the CEO really listens. Really analogous to the CTO in a tech company. Iger, IMO, is a great business manager, but he's not a creative guy (beyond the financial creativity demonstrated by deals he has pulled off) and Disney sorely need that now. Quite evidently.
Cheers.

Didn’t they pretty much purge all of the imagineers and idea people a few years back? It shows.
I agree they need to find them and get them back. Tom Skaggs knows Disney and is a step in the right direction.

Bring back Tom Staggs!!!! I like Staggs, but he is primarily a finance guy, exactly the type many like to whine and complain about. Perhaps a joint CEO role much like Bruce mentions would be ideal.

Not sure a joint CEO scenario really works. We need something more like a CEO/CTO in the tech area. Except it would be CEO/CCO as suggested by captjacksfamily. But it would have to be a CEO who actually listens to the CCO, or it will be more like now. Cheers.

Staggs might be a finance guy, but I think he understands the creative side.
