The countdown to the New Year had just ended and we hurried out of the Atlantic Dance Hall to walk over to the Swan … only to witness 3 police and Disney security trying to refrain a guest in a short skirt, sparkly outfit Just outside the door of JellyRolls. I am guessing she swung at an officer or tried to get away but they were trying to handcuff her, flat on the ground and I think officer might have had a knee in her back and she was pretty loud yelling get off me.. I kept on walking cause I didn’t want to witness anything more . But can’t stop thinking about a terrible way to start the New Year … for everybody . What do you think? Security was called to stop her from driving or hurting herself or somebody else on Disneyproperty and she thought she could get away ? Thinking about it , it certainly did not seem she had any friends wanting to help her . It was like she was the only one in trouble. It was very upsetting for me. I normally don’t hang out at Bars and certainly didn’t expect to see this on Disney property for my New Year .

I see this as a good thing, that security is doing there job to ensure a bad situation does not progress into a worse situation.

DH finds these situations interesting. A LONG time ago, while we were eating at the River Grille, we witnessed a security situation - not quite the same as above - where a group of people ended up being charged. I felt sorry for this one group member who kept protesting being charged because they weren't involved. The person just couldn't understand that since they stayed with the group, even though they didn't participate in the behavior, they were still culpable. We tried to explain this to our adult children and they all sided with the non participating member of the group - none could believe they'd have to abandon their group to not be culpable. This thinking came back later on in life to bite our youngest. Sometimes it doesn't matter how much pre-warning is given. People will do what they want and still not want to suffer the consequences.

It is my understanding that Disney’s police avoid public confrontation at all costs. That said, , without knowing why the woman was taken into police custody it is hard to make a judgment call. However, I do agree it seems aggressive.

I did not mean to imply I considered it aggressive in my original post .

Maybe this video was from a different arrest, but I saw nothing aggressive here. Well, maybe the female in custody…

Maybe this video was from a different arrest, but I saw nothing aggressive here. Well, maybe the female in custody… Unless there were two arrests right at midnight.... But nothing there looked really aggressive though obviously only saw this clip. I've not found others beyond it though so no one decided to stop to see. Social media catches nearly everything like that though.

People are idiots. Everywhere. Glad this one seems to have been appropriately dealt with,

We wandered in one evening when it was not yet crowded to look around. Some very nice views from the upstairs. Otherwise loud and unimpressive. But it was nice to finally get into the place.
Cheers.

The place with the upstairs is the Atlantic Dance Hall across the way. Definitely unimpressive but some nice views (rarely inside as well, ha…). Jelly Rolls is the piano bar. More likely to find nice interior views here than exterior. And some talent with the pianists.

Cheers.

Our eldest tried to convince us to experience Jelly Rolls but DH was turned off by the customer service personnel at the front and that was that. Atlantic City we've been to many times but the place always looks like it's on the verge or being closed permanently. Now we just walk by - too old, too tired. LOL

I've never been to either. Loud isn't my thing. Unless I'm going to see a band, my bar choice is one where I can talk with people and not have to yell over the piano or dance music.
