Can we enter EPCOT at 8:30a to walk back to do Ratatouille standby? We've never ridden Ratatouille so that is my goal for our next stay, along with waking up in time to do the VQ's. LOL. If you are a resort guest, yes.

If you are a resort guest, yes. Thank you. If you can get the the International Gateway and enter Epcot there, it'll save you a lot of steps and time. To be ahead of the "headed to Ratatouille" mob, I'd want to be at the Int'l Gateway no later than 8.

OKW in December had DVD players still. As was mentioned, the new TVs have a thing on the main "interactive" screen for casting from your device to the tv. Used it with wife's ipad and it worked fine. I have also read that the new TVs have disabled (or something) the HDMI ports or whatever, people were having trouble using their firesticks, playstations etc. Read a couple instances of people using universal Samsung remotes to get the unit out of "hospitality mode" or something. If any of the words that just came out of my mouth piqued anyone's interest, you will have to do your own research, I don't have any further knowledge. I was looking to see if the new TVs have a headphone jack, plain and simple.

Thanks for all the replies about the DVD players, I think I"ll bring a couple just in case. I"m bringing a roku stick thing and the Chromecast hookup. We've used them before successfully at Disney. I think it was Universal where it didnt' work right. Somewhere recently we coudnt' get it to work DS's new routine, is watching movies or a series when we go back to the room midday/breaking, etc. He's never seen the last few Harry Potter movies, so was going to bring them, They're available on Peacock, which I 'think' I still have an active subscription to. but not positive. Of course, I can't find the 6th movie in our DVD collections, so might not work anyway. Thanks for the input!!

I ran into your exact "disabled HDMI port" thing at OKW -- it's not disabled, but changing the source to the HDMI in put is buried in the TV's settings menu (not the customer-facing hospitality "welcome xx family" interface). It is not intuitive, and not easily found unless you navigate a few levels into the settings menu. But you can indeed use the settings button on the supplied remote to get there, however, and switch over.
I really like the cast feature on these new TV's and have mostly positive experiences with them. Sometimes it doesn't work well or can be buggy, but that is the exception.
I really miss the old daily agenda/hours slideshow with the background disney music! I used to turn it on every morning as we got ready in our room. It really started the day off in "magical" mode. It's SUCH a pity it's gone (I actually have a playlist of a lot of the songs). There is also a "live" Youtube channel that emulates it (with current hours, weather, etc.) that I'll put on once in a while, but the "cast" feature mentioned above doesn't allow youtube, so even that's really hard to get going.

Since you’ll probably be staying on site at DVC, Epcot gates will open at 8:30AM. If you want to go to Ratatouille, I recommend you enter through the back entrance or you will have a long walk and end up behind everyone coming through the back.

I thought I could find it in the 37 or so Disney channels that are on the tv, but no luck. One could always use that "live" youtube channel (I know what you are talking about) and rip/record the one hour music loop, or do the whole video if you wanted, and then play that on your device and cast it to the in-room tvs. Or you could use this one!!

I should probably know this but here I am LOL - do the room key cards work for picking up the rfid ride photos? We have plenty of magic bands 2.0, to use at the touch points, and I don’t want to buys MB+ just for ride photos, or to add to the pile of MB I already have. Wondering if we get a room key/card will that work to capture our photos on rides like Tron, GotG etc, that don’t have a photo touch point as you get off the ride?

No. While you might get lucky, they shouldn't work since you need a battery -powered signal (magic band) to provide the extended range necessary for their system to read your signal and associate the photo with your account.

Ah right. Totally wasn’t thinking about the battery. Thank you. maybe I’ll buy one MB+ to have for eternity (or until it no longer charges or disney changes the technology).

I was looking at reservations for Narcossee's. It's still a week before we can book our dates, but it looks tough for 2. Booking for 3 looks more open.
When it comes to our week, I will look for 2, but will book for 3 if I have to. And then try to change later as I have done in the past.
If it does stay as a reservation for 3, will I be charged the no-show fee for the one person who does not show?
Cheers.
