I often make a reservation for 4. Then immediately use the app to modify it down to 2 and I get the same time as before but for 2. They are updating the dining reservation though so who knows if it will still do that.
We have checked in with a lower number too.

Our window will open next week, and we'll only need the one reservation. So it will likely look the same by then. But we shall see. They're up to 5/8 and we arrive 5/13.
Cheers.

I was looking at reservations for Narcossee's. It's still a week before we can book our dates, but it looks tough for 2. Booking for 3 looks more open. When it comes to our week, I will look for 2, but will book for 3 if I have to. And then try to change later as I have done in the past. If it does stay as a reservation for 3, will I be charged the no-show fee for the one person who does not show? Cheers. I mostly book for 2 or 4 when it’s only me. Never an issue/charge, not to worry at all.

Last trip I had to book for 3 as well. We showed up and said its only the two of us - no problem.

I was looking for Chef Art Smith's one time and party of 2 showed nothing, party of 3 showed lots of stuff. Google research was saying something about maybe they don't have any two-tops or something? People on the other site were saying no big deal to make the reservation for 3 and then just two show up. I never did end up making a reservation that time.

I always search using multiple people settings, the results will always vary. On our trip two weeks ago, I wanted to go to Kona for breakfast. When I searched for 2 people, nothing.....changed to 4 people, got my reservation.
Disney ADR system sucks and this is just one of the many reasons why I hate it.

Lucky for us, we got seated next to a MO legend and his wife.

He system may or may not suck (it's worked fine for me), but this does not seem to be an example of this. Seems more likely that two tops are all booked, and only four tops (and possibly larger) remain. That's not a fault of the booking system but of restaurant configuration.
Cheers.

But booking for 3 did not show availability either. It should, but it did not.

Sorry.....I was posting to get to the point.
Since the app was glitchy, I entered various number of people for the dining party to see the results. I do this often when not finding exactly what I want. Many times, I will end up booking a larger party than needed, to get a reservation. Never had an issue when arriving at the restaurant. I also will use this same strategy but in reverse. For example at Christmas, we had 7 in our group. If I could not find an ADR for 7, I would try 8 or any combination that equals 7 or 8. Again, when we arrive, we tell them we have two reservations but are a party of 8. Most of the times, we will be seated together. But every now and then, they will break us apart.

I should know this but can't recall and have had no luck searching for it but is there a limit on the Disney Visa dining discount as far as number of people covered per meal/bill? It was easy to verify the DVC discount is good for the member and up to 3 guests (4 meals/people total) but I can't find similar info when using the Disney Visa card. We have an upcoming trip with 11 people so are looking at dual ADRs to get everyone in but I also need to ensure we have the right mix of people in each party to maximize discounts. DH and I are the only ones w/ DVC and we have multiple with Disney Visa. If Disney Visa covers everyone on a bill (guessing that's not likely) then we'll be leaning on that discount where it applies.

I have a stupid question.
Doing a split stay at the end of July which we have not done in a LONG time. Going from All Star Movies (trying to save some points) to Kidani. Will bell services still manage bag transfers?
