Finally was able to convince my wife it was time to turn the furnace on...58 in the house this morning. hee hee! Happens every year. She denies everything. "It's 63 in the house and going to be cold for the next week at least, I might have to turn the heat on" I say one day. "It's 61 in the house and supposed to be heavy frost overnight" I might say another day. "It's 60 in the house and going to be high of 50 for a few days" I might say again. My house is the opposite. I'm always freezing so I'm the one who turns the heating on first. It did feel later than usual though. I did my test run in early October and I'm usually doing that in September but it wasn't cold enough for me to feel like I could run it with people in the house even as a test. A week or so ago I said it to the heat/cool setting versus just cool or just heat so it's been running I think the last couple of days. We do have it set for as low as 62 at night though. 68 in my house year-round. I don't touch it unless there's an issue. Spouse firmly believes in cooler at night. So we do that in the summer but right now heat is set for 62. It's 36° out right now. House is at 63° right now. I have lots of warm blankets at the moment. Cat is snuggling next to me for warmth too lol

In the summer we run the AC at 78. We also have paddle fans in most of the rooms. I don't like to be cold. It's 45 degrees outside right now. DH likes to say it was hidden on the back of the marriage certificate that says i control the thermostat.

My husband scraped the kid's car on his way out to be nice (PSAT day so reducing stress I guess). In the 20 mins between leaving it had iced over again. New car for kid and he couldn't find the scraper (kind of a hidden spot) so I was out helping. I'm now going to crawl back under my electric blankets.

What is it with men and heat - need to spend $? It was 58 in our house this morning and no, no heat! I want one more low bill. LOL

I'm the same with the heat -- it's like a game for me to see how long into the fall I can go before we turn it on. DH, however, is ready to turn it on earlier and finally got me to acquiesce when he pointed out we need to be sure the heat is working fine before we get in a situation where we really need it and haven't had it on yet. So now that we've turned it on to test (thankfully it's working fine), my game is over and now we've reset it for our winter temps (68 daytime, 65 nighttime).

Well good thing you weren't at Walmart at 12:30 or whatever.
I have that song on a 45 and the full album! Fun fact: that song made Irving Berlin the oldest living songwriter with a #1 hit. As I recall

We were at a gently used store yesterday and the owner stated that nothing from the 80's sells. LOL The chair I wanted didn't sell itself to DH either *pout* so I still only have a rocker in our bedroom, ala' Granny from Beverly Hillbillies.

DH left off watching football, disgusted with the Eagles score at the 1st qtr, to wash our car. The Eagles went on to win the game which I told him just proves he should wash a car during Eagles games so the Eagles continue to win.
