That looks great! I can't believe the installers thought it was ok to leave it without being flush because it obviously needs to be.

Well since I got those appliances in, it's time to turn my attention to other matters, although it would have been nice to keep going and work on the other half of the kitchen...can't really "move in" until there's a sink and ideally a microwave and toaster and coffee maker. I havent' put the outlets in for those two but I have boxes, the sink is in the countertop but I need to do the pipes underneath. And of course the dishwasher but what the hell, haven't had a dishwasher for 18 months or more so why start now.
But the one car is having transmission trouble again, so it's down, and the other has been leaking brake fluid, and the other, well, she just doesn't like driving it or being picked up in it. So I started working on the Honda today, I knew it was rusted brake line. What I ALSO knew but was hoping not to encounter, was rusted fuel line...but sure enough, five minutes in "I smell fuel" and gasoline dripping all over. Oh well. I collected it and put it through a coffee filter. I figure I was days away from a leaking fuel line so no big deal, at least it happened in my driveway.
What's funny is when I drive the car, I go through less brake fluid than when she drives the car...which means she presses harder on the brake pedal. When it gets real bad, she doesn't get to drive and I drive. I figure if the brakes go when I'm behind the wheel it's one thing, vs if she's behind the wheel. Not a new thing for me, she'd freak out.
In other news, I made chili from scratch (including dry beans this time) and it was a success so that's good.

Can I brag here? I try not to brag IRL, but maybe it'll be OK if I brag here a little to my online friends??? If you think I'm obnoxious to brag, stop here lol.
My daughter plays D3 collegiate field hockey. Her school is in a conference of 11 teams in PA and MD -- the Centennial Conference -- which includes Johns Hopkins. I grumble a little at Hopkins being in the league because they have a huge recruiting advantage and are a much larger institution (all the other schools in the league are colleges vs universities, many of them relatively unknown to the general public such as Bryn Mawr, Washington College of MD, McDaniel...) & so can afford a larger paid coaching staff, greater Title IX advantages, etc. Not to take anything away from JHU - it's obviously a fantastic school and their team is always well-coached and very talented, and I don't know where I think they would be better placed, I'm just saying that I feel like it's unbalanced in the league as evidenced by the fact that Hopkins has dominated for years.
BUT....
Yesterday, Swarthmore College Field Hockey (unranked) beat Johns Hopkins (#5). YES THEY DID!!! A 1-0 win in OT. They outplayed them the whole game, though JHU was strong as ever; Swarthmore finally won it on a penalty stroke in OT. I am so grateful for the livestream so I could see it happen from here in upstate NY. My DD played the entire regulation and OT and was (if I may say) a critical part of the stellar defense that shut them out.
- This was Hopkins' first defeat in a Centennial regular season home game since October 14, 2016. It snapped their 47-game Centennial Conference regular season win streak, the longest regular season win streak in conference history. - It was Swarthmore's first win against Hopkins since 2011, and Swarthmore's first win versus Hopkins at Homewood Field since 1996. - This was Hopkins' first loss to an unranked opponent at home since September 27, 2017.
I'm so glad my daughter got to be a part of it!! Wooooooo!!! [Thanks all for indulging me here! :-) ]

Well, okay, one side of kitchen done: (I think) I mean, all the cabinets and everything is empty, I'll probably fret for countless hours on how to arrange stuff. Most of the stuff in my garage and workshop are where they are because that's where I dropped them when we moved in 17 years ago, and I just threw stuff down. (Why is this saw here, in the middle of the floor? That's where there was enough room to set it down on moving day, and one day I needed it and it got plugged in and it's been there since. Unchanged, except for the day I brought home a dumpy cabinet I found on the curb for it to stand on heh heh heh) I wouldn't be surprised if kitchen stuff ends up that way, too. Looks great! Good luck on all the other stuff.

Thanks Brian. Do you follow college football? “ WE ARE PENN STATE”….is still undefeated. if it’s a sport, chances are pretty good I follow it at least somewhat. But especially football. Used to,have a college football summary here but we lost a few of those who followed. I can bring it back… Congratulations on the Penn State victory, Hope. Football night here... we are not undefeated but hopefully will have a home team advantage for play offs. Last regular season of the night was tonight. Did they win? Can I brag here? Ok, I’m sure most of you sports fans know what happened yesterday at the end of the Commanders game. If not, highly suggest you look it up. A fantastic finish! What say you Brian? Have a great week everyone!

Oops forgot to post that we won Friday. We also found out that we have home team advantage for playoff game #1 which is Friday. Busy week getting prepped for that (food, drink, stuff for kids to have during game) Ok, I’m sure most of you sports fans know what happened yesterday at the end of the Commanders game. If not, highly suggest you look it up. A fantastic finish! What say you Brian? Have a great week everyone! Spouse showed me Commanders ending to the fame. Zoomed in and saw the guy taunting fans at the beginning of the game was literally the tipping point for the game
