One time many years ago, I found some parking spots near my sister's apartment in Uptown Minneapolis. I came out a few hours later and the city had INSTALLED parking meters and given me a ticket.
Disney has spent years gutting the center of Epcot's Future World and given us a very nice city park. But in case anyone thought they were going to leave it that way, there are pictures online of new merchandise kiosks being installed in the city park.

Starting to worry that Starbucks will have that cold brew coffee too since it is on the border of the Park. I wonder what the Walt Disney Statue thinks of that view to daydream believer . If there's stuff I want at those booths, of course I will buy it. How anyone would not expect Disney to add merchandise space to their parks is beyond me. As for Walt? He made a lot of money with these parks. I suspect he'd be the one pushing for these merch stands.
Cheers.

Um, those short, WIDE shirts don’t fit you any better than they fit the rest of us. 😁 And their last hoodies were hit or miss quality. Besides more magic bands and tumblers, what exactly are you going to buy, Missie?

Thanks for reminding me, I have a Disney store package to open... may or may not have a hoodie and a magic band (no tumbler)

I was walking through there the other day and was thinking they had a lot of dinning type seating but there wasn't really food sales to support it. From the picts it looks like they are in areas designed for them and not really effecting the site lines so I guess I'm ok with it (as if my opinion counts...).

Thanks for the update . It is an interesting delightful place to visit . The different zones to visit Walt and another for character MeetnGreets .And nearby Journey of Water , the lighting experience at night with views of Spaceship Earth glowing and lighting to match taking over the interiors of the nearby Connections Cafe and also in the gardens and sidewalks & the nightly fireworks show ! Truly an experience to take in as you enter and exit for the day or just decide to visit in the middle of the afternoon . Not to mention the outdoor musical stageshow balcony that is under construction with Communicore . I just don’t want it to be too congested and I also hope it doesn’t becomes another “ Drinking around the World “ pit stop. I’d plan to go this weekend but looks like rainy weather . Maybe Monday , hopefully . I also need to just jump on the monorail to experience the view …it’s been a long journey … I just want to view No More Construction Zone ! Maybe a booth will sell a t-shirt that makes the announcement Epcot the Construction is done Experience Experiment
Haha

Hi BRP…good to know you are looking forward to a visit and a place to sit down next to Walt Disney to discuss …Yes eventually the Disney family has enjoyed financial security but the original need to sell merchandise and marketing to co-sponsor corporate agreements and commercialization was a response for funds to continue to build a dream and avoid personal financial bankruptcy .
I don’t think I will have to worry about Disney management today using personal funding to build a dream or safeguard their family.

I don’t care what they sell. They are a business.
The placement stinks. I sat in a spot close to there and they now block the lights to Connections and Creations. They are all coordinated with SSE. Most people probably don’t sit there that long to watch.
I’m not shocked that the “architects” didn’t take to the “marketing” booth arm of The Mouse.
Just like the movement of the smoking section outside MK to the walking path to The Grand.

I'm pretty sure based on the shape of the pavement they were designed in from the beginning though. They just needed the area open so they didn't wait to finish. They are shorter than the trees too. Not sure they'll block that much?

The kiosks look like the ones used for Fest merch. I could've sworn there were merchandise kiosks in some of these areas pre-construction. I don't see them adding to congestion, if I am correct.
