Agreed, but will they be organized? DD’s in Birmingham was a nightmare and her orders were always a mess. I’m not anti-Walmart either. We shop at ours all the time. #2 is Publix if we cannot find something. Or Costco if you need bread… It’s a secret which one cuz then everyone else will buy it!

I had a $25 coupon for Instacart with Publix too that I sent her.

Uber and Lyft will not make a stop for grocery pickup. I have seen this asked and answered elsewhere. Not even curbside as that often takes 5 or 10 minutes for your groceries to come out. The best options would be either to take an Uber to the grocery store and then call an Uber when you're ready for pickup, or do like a Town Car service that allows us to stop. I'm still a huge fan of the Winn-Dixie on Apopka Vineland Avenue near Disney Springs. It's not a hard drive to go to from places like Riverside. This Winn-Dixie is also our go-to whenever we come to WDW. There is an ABC liquor store in the parking lot as well for those who imbibe.

I've had nothing but great experiences there and when yogurt was forgotten they took such good care of everything. Plus the liquor store right next door is convenient. Good location as a whole too. I kept trying Publix stores near by and always go back.

This is just great. I can get wine at the grocery stores in Florida, and that's all the booze I drink in the room.
Cheers.

When investigating last week, I think we went by the Winn Dixie, but I’m not sure it was the same one. I liked the one in AL. We don’t have any that are closer than Walmart or Publix in Ocala.

It's not too far from where Hotel Plaza Blvd and S Apopka Vineland meet. Look for lake Ruby and it's just south of that. Pretty close to most of the resorts really. I have no idea how good a Winn-Dixie is elsewhere, but this store is just nice. Publix in other places outside of central Florida seem to be nice too, I'm just not fan of the ones nearby Disney specifically.

We were always staying at the other end of property so we went to places on 192. There is a Target there that is nice and a smaller Publix across the street. DH would head there early in the mornings to beat the crowds and it was fine. The Publix brp mentioned in Celebration, if it’s by the water tower, is nice. Each store depends on management I am sure. Our smaller Publix here is nice, but there are some new Publix stores that have huge delis and seating which are even nicer. If something is sold out at ours up the road, I go to the bigger one. The thing I like about Publix is their Greenwise brand. And, I price check items and some organic and other products are cheaper than Walmart. Publix has organic rice and it beats the other brands on price that I can find here. At home, most people tend to buy similar items so it’s easy to compare. Their BOGO deals are fabulous. I am sure it is difficult to keep stores stocked around property with the influx of tourists on property. Except my bread…I’m still going to search in Ocala. Perhaps a Winn Dixie! There are many other Publix in Ocala and their site does list it, but so does Walmart. We need a Costco closer!

We've used the Walmart on Old Lake Wilson Rd several times for grocery pick up (it's just outside the Disney 'gates'). We've never had an issue and the pick up area hasn't been busy. I try to schedule the pick up within the hour we're supposed to land and by the time we're off the plane and on our way, I get the test that the groceries are ready and I let them know we're coming. I'm not sure about stopping with Uber/Lyft but I would agree with the suggestion of offering a cash tip.

Some may already know this (and may or may not remember): Aldi is in the process of purchasing Winn-Dixie (and Harveys) from parent company Southeastern Grocers (expected to close first half of 2024). Some Winn-Dixie locations will be converted to Aldi, the rest will continue to operate as Winn-Dixie.

There is an Aldi less than 2 miles away already just on the other side of I4. Likely not being converted.

Is it true, booze can no longer be delivered to the resorts? At one time, I think you just had to be there, but I haven’t kept up with that. Bell Services will not accept and hold any deliveries that contain alcohol. As long as the person that ordered the groceries (or someone else noted on the order) it there to meet the driver, the delivery should be allowed. Garden Grocer usually delivers our groceries well before our arrival at our resort and DH's beer is always a part of that order. Now, the beer is not cold when it's delivered to the room my BS but that's not a issue for us, as we unpack it into the fridge and go out for our first drink.

the beer is not cold when it's delivered to the room my BS Yeah I agree, it's B.S. that the beer isn't cold!!! hee hee I used to use Garden Grocer too and the beer would be in the same paper grocery bags with everything else, but it's been probably 3-4 years. I have heard that things have changed at Bell Services. Speaking of things that have changed, when Magical Express went away we started flying into Tampa and renting a car, so we get our own groceries. And beer. And stuff in bottles. An extra cost but I guess I'm saving money on Garden Grocer's crazy prices? and/or other delivery fees. One time I used the app "Drizly" or "Drizzly" and it worked out well, a very nice guy brought margarita and beer and chips and salsa right to my room at OKW.
