Need help….friend is coming in and staying at Riverside.
They are taking an Uber/Lyft from MCO…family of 4. They want to do a stop to pick up stuff and want to order it ahead and use curbside pick-up. She asked for Walmart or Target, but I’m thinking Publix or Winn Dixie might be better. I did a search for all and found a couple, but Walmart isn’t close to there. Target here isn’t great here in Ocala so I don’t know how they are in the Disney area.
Anyone have suggestions? She mentioned Instacart, but she’s buying booze so I’m pretty sure that doesn’t work anymore at Disney.
Any help would be appreciated.
I almost think they should try Tiffany Town Car like services with a grocery stop, but that was years ago for us.
I’m not sure on prices from MCO with Uber and I wasn’t even sure if they would stop along the way. That “outside” world of Disney is so busy too and we typically went out to places in the 192 area. The one time we were at Riverside, I tried to go to Walmart and never did find the one our old gps said where there. I ended up by Sea World somewhere. This was the old portable ones on your dashboard days. Those didn’t work all that great.

There is a Walmart Neighborhood Market off 417 on Landstar Blvd right by the airport. We've stopped there many times. As far as ordering ahead for pickup, I'm not sure about.

Uber and Lyft will not make a stop for grocery pickup. I have seen this asked and answered elsewhere. Not even curbside as that often takes 5 or 10 minutes for your groceries to come out. The best options would be either to take an Uber to the grocery store and then call an Uber when you're ready for pickup, or do like a Town Car service that allows us to stop.
I'm still a huge fan of the Winn-Dixie on Apopka Vineland Avenue near Disney Springs. It's not a hard drive to go to from places like Riverside.

Is it true, booze can no longer be delivered to the resorts?
At one time, I think you just had to be there, but I haven’t kept up with that.

Bell Services will not accept and hold any deliveries that contain alcohol. As long as the person that ordered the groceries (or someone else noted on the order) it there to meet the driver, the delivery should be allowed.

I've never known an Uber driver that would turn down a nice cash tip. If a ride from the airport costs $60 and you say hey if If I give you $40 cash can we stop here and pick up groceries and then take me..... They'll make more on that $40 for 20 min of work than the 2 hour round trip to the airport and not spend gas to do it. I wouldn't bother with the order ahead stuff. It's an unnecessary complication of something as simple as a grocery run.

Hey, DH did a grocery order last month, Instacart from Publix, to BLT, and it did include beer. He was there to meet the driver, and pick up delivery. He scheduled the delivery time, and while it was a little earlier than expected, driver communicated, and no issues. He did use a luggage cart to bring the groceries up. Not sure of those options at POR, but also when he did a grocery order at Riviera, he just brought an empty suitcase, and brought it all back in that. We've shopped a few times at the Super Target and Publix on 192, the Publix north of MK, and DH has been to the Walmart near Univeral and the Walmart south of 192. THat last Walmart was insane!

Unfortunately policy changed last August so that no company is allowed to deliver alcohol without someone present to pick it up. You will see varying success or denials on the internet. As a whole it is not wise to order groceries with alcohol unless you plan to be there to meet them. In the past only certain grocery deliveries would allow you to send your driver's license in and they would allow groceries to be delivered. Personally, that's when I never did because sending my driver's license info over the internet is really not a smart security thing to do anyway.

I don't know about other stores, but Walmart will do a scheduled delivery within a 1one hour window and they tend to have high quality produce and such. We have Walmart+ via a credit card, so deliver is free, otherwise it's like $9.95 . So far we've only done the occasional delivery at home, but we have a 12-day trip coming up in New Orleans and I've already added that address to my Walmart account. Good prices as well.
Cheers.

Walmarts around Disney can be insane, but I understand. I would trust our neighborhood Walmart here, but not the big one.

The Walmart south of 192…it was June-ish and it was worse than Christmas in there. Just nuts. We go here even right at opening to avoid the insanity. One time here in Ocala I had to go get a cart from the parking lot!

Agreed, but will they be organized? DD’s in Birmingham was a nightmare and her orders were always a mess. I’m not anti-Walmart either. We shop at ours all the time. #2 is Publix if we cannot find something.
