There will never be a day that I had wished to buy into the Cabins at Ft Wilderness.....never!
If Reflections comes back out of hibernation, and they go with the original plans, I might add-on that resort. For the record, Reflections is not 100% gone and can still be built.
Hmmmmmmm! 🤔 Danlb_2000 over on WDWMagic reported today that a request has been made to the South Florida Water Management District to extend one of the “permits” for Reflections for another 5 years. Technically it isn’t a permit, it’s a Notice of Commencement for a construction projects around the WDW property. The fact that they want to extend for 5 years suggests this could well be back on the cards once the Poly Tower is completed.

I just think DVC has future expansion plans to make the Fort more desirable when they announce a return to Reflections . For some reason I expect DVC planning to expand the natural beauty of this location to make it an exciting place to connect with Nature . Do you have a better theme for the future of DVC ? At that time , once again , we will wish we had bought into an idea when we could afford it .

Might as well build it at this point. I'm still very bitter about all they did only to shelve this and still fail to reopen the path. Nothing is going to get me to stay at FtW unless they improve transportation.

We don’t want to drive when we’re onsite, that way we can all come and go as we want to, have a drink when we want and so on. If they build Reflections and have a proper bus service then fine. Otherwise it’s a definite no.

Improving the Bus Transport and creating a new improved walking path isn’t very much to ask for. Seems like an easy fix for DVC to tackle.
DVC does have a lot invested in this . Why do we want it to fail without experiencing this project as the path unfolds ?

Why do we want it to fail without experiencing this project as the path unfolds ? I don't ever want a DVC resort to fail. Disney has chosen a path that is a failure.
The funny thing is I think the resort will be a good rental because of the low point requirements. But for buyers, this is a hard "no" for most, except for the people who have a past connection with the resort and that small group of dog owners.

They need less people who all agree on the same thing and more who tell them like it is. The path was being redone. I haven't seen updates. The bus system cannot improve there really. It's really huge. They could have a direct bus to parks from Reflections though. The rest is what it is.

Assuming everyone will feel a certain way is never wise.
I personally will never regret not owning at these cabins. Guaranteed.
I personally also have zero interest in Reflections at the current time. I sincerely doubt that will change.

Two thoughts:
1) I won't list them, but of course the DVC resorts at WDW range from my favorite to my least favorite, and there are resorts within the top 5 of that list that I have no interest in owning. Not wanting to buy is not the same as not wanting to stay.
2) It seems to me that every time DVC has announced a new resort, there were always some here that bemoaned its faults (AKV is too far away, THV has horrible parking, PVB only has studios?!, BLT has a stupid name, etc.), yet none have failed.
I'm guessing that FWC will sell out to a cadre of happy owners that probably aren't participants on this board.

To be fair, some criticisms are more valid than others, and not all are thinking something is a failure. I think failure is too strong anyway. More of a big miss in actions. Aulani is a big miss IMO. Beautiful resort but in terms of DVC sales a big miss. It's still not sold out 14 years later. I think the cabins will follow suit. All other criticisms are just that. Some more valid than others (cough cough restrictions). Many are personal feelings. I have a list of resorts and only one is a no repeat if I can ever help it. Even then I'd visit but not stay.

The latest sales numbers were posted on DVCNews.com today. April's sales numbers are just horrendous. OKW outsold the latest, but far from greatest, DVC resort.
Riviera - 71,630 Disneyland - 20,517 Old Key WEst - 12,605 Cabins - 6,726
As a refresher, DVC sold 12,326 points at the Cabins in march.
Interestingly, DVC has declared another 33 Cabins into the inventory. I think this is because there is value there as a rental by existing DVC owners.

Now if PVB outsells currently (not after new points go on sale - those sales are pretty much on hold right now with a rare exception) you know it's a horrible miserable failure.

With such a bad miss.....someone's head has to be on the cutting block. No, just wait. May will be the killer month for the Cabins. Really, trust me. Pent up demand. We built it and they will come. Really they will...
Cheers.

Who was in charge of this I wonder? I know they used to have the heads of DVC all over this stuff but is it Bill Diercksen or his boss Thomas Mazloum. Or someone below?
I'm not sure which is worse, the Aulani MF issues or this?
Also they will have to really dig deep to understand the issues before plowing ahead again with Reflections. Glad they have PVB that will be on sale sometime soonish.
