Whee! Today I received email notification that my October VDH reservation had been cancelled. Minutes later a new email showed up to welcome me to the Grand Cal! Yeah! What a day brightener!
Naturally, I logged in to verify and while I was there I snagged new reservations at the Grand Cal for December and January; moved my November VDH reservation to a better unit type and created a waitlist in hopes of moving the same to VGC. Fingers crossed!

Awesome!
And yes I dislike the cancelation email before the confirmation too.

Wooooooooooo!!!!!!
I love to hear good news about the DVC waitlist system. I have had great luck since I have been an owner, but the last two years have been a lot harder.

Yay!
I’ve done 3 waitlists, and got them all. It’s a good feeling when they come through, although the cancellation email freaks me out.
Two were for BCV, both for a week! I bet it doesn’t work when we try for our next stay.

Congratulations! We have never waitlisted because I can't handle the stress. I want to plan flights, dog boarding, etc. as soon as possible. Too many moving parts! I just made someone super happy with a cancellation at Riviera for a week in September. We rebooked to SSR in October. Bird in the hand for me!

We are easy driving distance to DLR ... but still have to arrange for critter care (horses, cats and parrot at home; dog at kennel) and find/create/train coverage for our other tasks. I've come to "terms" with waitlisting and stalking as our DVC points are from WDW but we live near DLR. So it goes! Congrats on your rebooking!

Yippee! Hope the new one works out too! Thank you! Good news is that I was able to rebook the Nov reservation into a better unit (same resort) while fishing yesterday. Now I'd just like to move it to my preferred resort ... but this is relatively minor, I s'pose. (Right, right ... I've been known to say, "Never again!" when discussing VDH ... but I probably don't really mean it. We'll give it another chance ... I'm guessing the poolside live music won't be quite as annoying in November as it was over a recent summer holiday weekend from our Garden Villa patio.)

I only wait list when I already have a room booked and swapping location, not days. I couldn't do it otherwise. I'm still 50/50 for getting them.

Yay! I have pretty decent luck with the waitlist. Lola, what we do is book something else just in case. We have even booked at Dolphin or Value, especially if it is not the entire trip. I still have wanted to see Art of Animation to grab pictures, and twice, our waitlist came through. Yes, we can travel over there but never do....lol

That's terrific! I was surprised that I had some success as well. My "one job" was to book Boardwalk 2bed at 11 months for early December. Guess who forgot......I waitlisted BWV and BCV and the BCV came through! We don't usually waitlist as I am happy enough to stay at SSR. But my son is a BWV devotee - so glad this worked out.

OOOOOHHHHH! A BCV W/L came through for you? Wowza — that is a rare gem indeed. Congrats! (Of course, I must say your son has great taste — BWV holds a super special spot for us, too!)

Fingers crossed! Congrats!!! That is very cool! I currently have a waitlist for one night at VDH in September. I was only able to book 3 of the 4 nights I needed for my daughter's trip. Hoping the waitlist comes through. I have also been stalking the website daily. Nothing so far.
