I am standing firm on not renewing our AP. Our current AP's expire on the 23rd of September. We have two cruise sandwiches which means a day before and a day after for each of the November and March vacations. I am hoping to book something for next Fall in October. So with that timeframe it just doesn't make $ sense to renew. We're already talking about a Spring 2026 4D Wish cruise to CC & LP with our son. Our youngest would like to go to Ireland possibly Fall of 2026. Of course if my WL comes thru for December

I did similar with our APs after the last summer trip. We had a good number of trips on those APs simply because of how the booking worked with school schedules. I currently do not have an AP attached to me, but we will change that for next spring when we go back since my son and I have two trips. I might be buying them soon but not activate until next spring. I just don't want to get hit with a price increase. Not going between early June and mid-march really made no sense to renew for the day after we left. I am deciding what to do about the spouse since he only has one trip planned next year but likely for eight days.

I'm considering not renewing mine as well. They expire around mid-December. We don't have a trip planned until next July. DD has mentioned wanting to go to Flower & Garden for her birthday in April but I still don't know if it's worth renewing for just that.

We've been on a 1 year AP 1 year none for the last few years. It's worked well. but it's hard on those off years...

Congratulations to each of you who embark on this brave journey! May you have strength and find great happiness.
We recently caved and renewed our DLR Magic Keys. Sigh.

I get it....the kids and I did not renew our APs, and are only getting 3 day tickets for October, then we have no WDW plans after that. DH is going on a solo trip in Feb, so he'd renewed his AP. I don't like this feeling though....day tickets are so limiting! and I love the flexibility of an AP....but I get it. It's just not worth it. Also, currently we have this Aulani trip planned for March. I hope that'll be a shift for us, that it'll show us all that other destinations can be fun too! . That'll take all or most of our 2025 DVC points. I did renew our Universal APs last year, but doubt I"ll renew those when the time comes. By the time we go back, Epic should be open, and nobody really knows what kinds of tickets they'll eventually offer. Hope you enjoy all of your new adventures!

We still get APs and use Undercover Tourist and bridging to Gate to save money on them. We go twice a year for 4 nights, so it's just about worth it. We only have to do this for another 18 years Cheers.

LOL it sure feels that way right about when your going to be taking time off! That last day of an annual pass is really hard on me.
We go often during our Disney years, but then when it's our down year time flies surprisingly fast. I think it helps that you're setting up that next year right away. Whether it's planning with family or booking 11mo DVC stuff, these things take time. It adds suspense too, having to wait a bit.

We just factor the AP's in as part of the annual cost of DVC But we did delay this year since ours expired in April and we had no plans to return. We are doing the ABD Amalfi trip and weren't sure of WDW plans. But of course I booked an Oct trip and early Dec trip so there goes that plan. So I think I will be buying soon in anticipation of the October timeframe potential price increase.

I just wish I could split up the 4 into two different times of the year. Everything falls at once, our summer trip (usually three weeks) and the AP renewal x 4

I have thought the same once or twice in the past and did skip when the next trip was way down the road. I would then get three trips out of the next AP bought. Our trips eventually were a minimum of 10 days each so one trip made it worth renewing. Decisions....

Good Luck with your year of FOMO!
We have been trying to add other stuff into out Disney and timeshare mix of vacations. Its really, really hard to juggle it all. Because of the Club, we are tied to going to Disney. But the other timeshares we pushed aside for 1-2 years.
In 2025 and 2026, we will be using our other timeshares again....2025 Atlantis (grandsons request) and 2026 St John USVI (four years between trips).

Pre and Post DVC we purchased an AP about every 18 months. It fit well into our vacation schedule. We just considered it part of the vacation expense. Then the pandemic nixed the AP's and we had to go without. I agree that eliminating the AP does impose a limit on vacationing so when Disney started selling the AP we started buying again.

We've been on a 1 year AP 1 year none for the last few years. It's worked well. but it's hard on those off years... We've done really well with this approach. Being further away, once a year is as often as we can go, so we plan two longer trips within 12 months, and then a break from AP's and let points refill. Though we did get burned once when AP sales were paused.

Though we did get burned once when AP sales were paused. Sales pause of AP (DLR "MK") is what got us this year. We would have let ours drop ... but knowing that no level of MK can be purchased simply "at will" (none are offered for sale right now) pushed us say, "Ok, where is that dotted line? Got a pen? Sure, we'll sign." So, we renewed ... Pre-Covid we would stagger our passes on/off or maybe rotate east/west ... but for now, it appears we are easy money for DLR.
