Even though we don't have a room, but I'm hopeful we'll get something up the Polynesian Tower, we booked flights since they were open this morning from Southwest for the first leg of our trip. It seems prices everywhere have jumped for us finally. Nothing was less than $200 each leg. I looked at other airlines too and they are just as bad, if not worse and they all have layovers. So it is what it is for us. Good luck to those who are looking. Still open seating it seems right now as well.
The next release date will be October 24th

DH won't do anything but NS and SW only NS is 4p, which leaves no wiggle room for cancelled flights.

Booked out Memorial Day airfare. I have a room booked, subject to change at the 7-month window.

And only when they have non-stop. if not, there is someone else we can fly, usually for a similar price. And, if someone else flies the same route nonstop as well, we usually take them. I think SJC-LAS is our only Southwest routing.
Cheers.

$352 RT would be great for me - you must be considerably closer than us. We just booked a May the Fourth escape to Batuu and it was 17K each way, or cash, around $500 round trip. That's high. Still I looked at 17K and thought - yay it's not 55K what a steal. We're so conditioned to the inflation that when things cost only 1.5x or 2x more and not 3x or 4x more it's seen as good. Will be interesting to see what Southwest does this year with their changes. We have 3 trips booked w them in the 1st half of the year. This does cap off what we're planning to book for a while, which is good since we're down to no points left.

$350 was about what we were paying for a number of years and that seemed normal for us. I think it's going to now be closer to $500 round trip. It is what it is though. The other airlines are showing the same high prices if not more and they have layovers I'd rather just stick with what I know. Will book the second half of our trip next month when flights through August 4th are open

The nice part of SW is that you can modify it when the 'sale' price hits. I like when I have to points to grab a flight and then I keep checking. I've always been able to get a lower fare eventually. I wish AA allowed this, or I could figure it out - LOL

I wish AA allowed this, or I could figure it out - LOL They do. If the fare becomes lower, one can get a credit for the difference. However, AA's credits have like a year to book, and then another 11 months to actually fly (and there are tricks for this), so about 2 years, while WN credits never expire.
Cheers.

For the first time, I was able to book American Airlines, with seats, cheaper than Southwest. Due to the insanely high prices for non stop, we did opt for one stop in Charlotte before the second flight to BWI. ( departing from MCO). For March, cant get anything under $325/one way NS from Baltimore. That’s not even adding in Early bird fees. That is insane. Nothing lower even for one stop. Got AA, with seats, final cost $280/pp.
Just got an email from SW about changes coming with seat selections and different tier benefits. The pricing will be interesting.

We have found that SWA has changes their pricing model the past 2 years. In the past, the cheapest flight was always the first day release.....this is not always true. We have learned to book our flights early, than periodically check the price. In almost all cases, we end up with a price that is 2%-30% less than our original pricing. It takes a minute each day to check and about the same to update and get a credit.

I still find that checking during the mid-week sales or on Sunday (?) I will find cheaper SW air. Don't know why buy that has been the rhythm 95% of the time. I am finding AA more and more affordable. Of course, I occasionally book 1st class - usually for our return. I call that a perk for being a retiree - LOL.
