There is an update to the Reflections rumors on the Blog Mickey Disney Website.
The Federal Aviation Administration has granted a permit for construction of a mobile crane at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. The permit is just the latest in an ongoing series of tea leaf readings that Walt Disney World will finally begin construction of Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge on the former River Country water park site at the sleepy resort. Let’s take a look at the most recent permit filing! Disney World Receives Clearance for 10-Story Hotel at Fort Wilderness
We’ll start with the permit itself, which grants the use of a mobile crane at coordinates matching the proposed Reflections hotel. The permitted work schedule begins October 14th and runs for 10 months until August 14, 2025. The crane will be 240 feet tall, which is similar to other cranes that we’ve seen used for the construction of Walt Disney World hotels recently.
The most interesting part of the permit can be found in the “description of proposal” section, which confirms that the crane will be on site to build a “10-story hotel”:
Construction of mobile cranes to construct a 10-story hotel. The mobile cranes can reach a max height of 240 ft. AGL when raised to its highest point. When idle, during non-working hours, the crane will be at a max height of 150 ft. AGL.
This fits the timeline of when DVC will need the "next" DVC resort for sales.

Sounds changed from before as I thought it was only y or 7 floors. I just hope they remove the stupid IP in the middle of the lobby for something better. I wouldn't be surprised if they roll CFW with it too. Or realize cabins will be predominantly cash only.
Still upset they are taking so long to restore the path.

I know everybody has their own varying reasons for hating on new projects, whether they be hotels or stuff in the park. Usually this seems to have alot to do with how the new project is going to ruin some other thing we love.
I will say, that when I saw the art and all the stuff for Reflections a few years back, it excited me because I think it could be pretty awesome.
Except I wasn't a fan of the IP in the middle of the lobby, as you said!
If I was in the market for new points, I would be very interested in this project, vs for instance the Poly tower did nothing for me. I of course find this interesting (the fact that I could care less for one but am interested in the other, when they will probably be similar smoothed-over styles in the end)

I was upset they messed up so much of the original feel of Ft Wilderness initially. I really really really dislike that the path is still not back. I am questioning how good transportation will be. If it is separate, then that's good. I have a fondness for Ft. Wilderness as a whole. They just need to step it up to make it good for DVC. Don't half crap it like they did with the cabins. I felt it didn't quite mesh with the vibe of the area that storyline being from the Potomic VA doesn't fit with the American frontier - go west young man. But that I can reconcile in my head easily. I got over BLT and how it looked at first.
I didn't dislike what I saw outside of that IP in the lobby. That was just a wrong move on so many different levels. Completely out of touch with issues of Indigenous women (look up MMIW) by using that as your main focus. Really inappropriate IMO. That's always been my big issue. Some won't care but just feels wrong to focus on in the current world.
I want that freaking path back though. And I hope they will be more aware of giving proper amenities and transportation.

A new build resort like reflections, will have a MF similar to Rivera, Grand Floridian and Poly.

There is no new information about the resort to see what is going to be offered now. My gut feel is that I will not be buying here, but I said that about Riviera......now I have three contracts and 470 points there.

I was meaning more for shared services for the cabins. The pool and services suck. Could be like CCV and BRV though timewise it wouldn't work. Though if they do some crazy luxury rooms they could balance the MFs better. I'm curious to see where PVB fees fall after this year. It would depend on how they do transportation and such for this resort to see if I'd stay or not. Buy in? Nah. More points will go to one place only for me.

Was not thinking up actually on this one but if stagnant like initially. At least the higher point charts help disperse MFs somewhat no matter what.

Ok I have to learn how to embrace change! LOL. But as Elaine said, “ BRING BACK THE WALKING PATH!”.

"Intellectual Property", in this case there was a Pocahontas statue in the lobby. As I recall.

Thanks for the link Really excited about this . Someday we could possibly jog / walk around the entire world of Disney !
I hope they keep the Reflection's Name for sunset views!
So that would leave a sliver of empty resort space on the water . I think it would be perfect to retire the Disney Dream Cruise Ship to convert to a WDW/DVC property!
There is a restaurant on waterfront in Palm Springs where Donal Trumps yacht and golf course is located. It is called Elisabettas ( excellent Italian ) 3 stories high and front shaped like a yacht And the Ben Resort nearby ! Excellent Brightline trip from MCO for one night or Holiday lights for a quick return visit ! I guess they could cut the Disney Dream in half to build a new resort design …
