Out of 3 kids, the only one I wanted to have a DL was our eldest because of going away to College 3 states over. I felt she needed ID. I made the other two wait until they were 17. I felt like crying when the youngest joined our insurance roster (and I shoulda cried! Geez!). I cry every time I pay the insurance for our two boys lol. It wasn’t bad when only covering liability on our good old learn to drive car, but our eldest (20 y/o) just bought (contributed to) a first new to him real car that needed all the coverage. Ugh. |

So we went over to the dark side and decided to get the fake Xmas tree my son has stored in the attic crawl space. We had our house re-roofed in 2020 and I knew the crawl space was a hot mess but, while baby has plenty of back, my back isn't up to creeping around with a child-sized broom any more. When DH saw the mess he was flabbergasted. So today he goes up there with a broom he cut down to 30 inches and in 30 minutes he swept out the crawl space. In that 30 minutes he took 3 breaks and is now trying to recover enough to take a shower. LOL
Age is a real leveler. When we first moved here I wondered why all the neighbors, who were all around the age we are now, said they didn't use their attics any longer. About 5 years ago the penny finally dropped.

This month continues to be the month of doing stuff I said that I'd never do. First, we're using a fake pre-lit tree (which Dan was so thrilled he actually decorated all by himself) and now I just reserved a house at the Jersey Shore during July. Crazy Town here in Flourtown.  |

This month continues to be the month of doing stuff I said that I'd never do. First, we're using a fake pre-lit tree (which Dan was so thrilled he actually decorated all by himself)... We put up our reusable tree several days ago. it has lights, but all white, so we add color and garlands. mrs. brp added those while I worked on yet more construction projects around the house (putting in a piece of siding where a window used to be, putting in sand and paving stones in a small area, building metal caps to protect corbels, etc.). Yesterday the external lights went up. We still have to add ornaments, but that's slated for today.

Yesterday I finally appreciated a Celebration of Life event. Usually I fly in and out of these events. During my brothers my head hurt so bad I thought I was gonna stoke out. Now I can finally appreciate the true worth of these events. I'd forgotten my BIL. I'd forgotten how much fun he was, how welcoming and how open he was to everyone and every experience. I was only remembering his blank stare and my sisters angst, how he'd tell her he wished his wife was there because she'd like her. Here is the presentation his daughter-in-law created. Up early (got up at 4:45) smoking a 16 lb. brisket. I should have taken a "before" picture as this one was beautiful after I separated and trimmed it (if do say so myself). Any MOs in the area are welcome to stop by Cheers. |

In the last 48 hours we have had almost 4" of rain and this morning there are white caps in the pool. Don't think I would count on the skylines today....
