I have a question! Are we allowed to post the “DVC site down” posts now, or is that still a no-no? Site isn’t down, but thought I would ask. Almost done with one quilt and I’m getting a little giddy… Uh. I never thought about it. Idunno. We get it aaaaaaaaaallll the time on my FB group.

Humor me… where’s that little violin emoji?

Question. On our upcoming trip in September we can either stay at Polynesian for 3 days then , Kidani or Beach Club . We have stayed at Beach Club and AKL almost exclusively for many years and we love them both. September would be a great time for us to try something new but don't want to regret what we give up. ( Vacation time is precious ) What would you do?

Ok, I don't know if I'm overcomplicating this one, it really is tricky, or if it does belong in this thread - so here goes!
We have 3 home resorts: CCV, DRR, VGF. The story of how we got there is complicated, but let's just say that it generally works for us. We alternate years between CCV and DRR, and tag on a few days @ VGF as a split stay each year. Next year is our 10 year anniversary, and we want to go to Au Lani. We got married right next door, and have been planning a return trip to HI for the 10 year. That means a trip in January 2024, so it's time to start planning. I'm trying to work the math on the stay, for a crazy one, and I think I'm ok.
The math: 2 years worth of DRR + 2 years worth of VGF = 10 days in a 3BR
We want the 3BR b/c we're expecting to bring a whole bunch with us. Using 2 years of each is no biggie, because that's how we use them anyway. I know we have to book at the 7 month window, since it's not our home resort.
Here's the question: What if we decided we needed more points? If it's more than the 15 one time use limit, can I rent points from somewhere else to cover the difference? Is there another way to cover a larger gap (say 30-50, or something similar)??

The amount of one time use points from Disney is 24 points at $19/pt ( not sure if they raised that price or not.) You could rent from another owner then ask if you could stay in your current room for the rented reservation. No guarantees but I have read where Aulani is really accommodating. If I’m not mistaken, if you have more than one use year you can get the 24 one time use points for each use year. A win if you do have more than one use year. Hope this helps you

Hope this helps you Is it per UY or per contract? Sounds like he has at least three contracts so if it's per contract, that could work out pretty good. I'm not saying, I'm just wondering.

You don’t mention them so perhaps you already have something booked or planned for them already though.

It’s use year.
We have multiple contracts in the same use year so we only get 24 one time points, but if it’s multiple use years the game changes. Only stated that they had multiple resorts I think?

So if I have multiple UY contracts under one membership ID, I can purchase 24 one time points per UY? And if the reservation was made at 7 months with home and non home resort points, one could theoretically get 24 pts x UY within the same reservation?
