I watched a couple video reviews of the new Tron ride. Visually it looks cool but the ride is shorter than expected and the indoor scenes are underwhelming.
Most problematic however is the ride vehicle and loading. Not sure why they just replicated the Shanghai version when the average American is so much bigger. The challenges of larger folks trying to squeeze into the lightcycle plus having to cross over the platform to load from the other side is going to seriously decrease the capacity of this ride and result in massive waits.

Not sure how it can be shorter than expected. It is a flat our copy of the Shanghai ride.
The ride design is not Disney's it's Vekoma who uses this elsewhere but themed differently. I am not sure they'd be able to fit the larger people safely without ruining the feel of the ride.
The larger people are making an issue for disabled people as there are only 4 seats that are accommodating and causing huge waits. The crossing over is not an issue in China, why would it be here?
I think people had no clue what to expect of Tron oddly as none of this is new. I think most are mad because of the wait to build. Other parks do just fine with limiting sizes for safety. Disney is more accommodating than most. Like FOP I expect this to be less of an issue once it really gets open. At least this one can accommodate disabled people better. Though sadly they'll be forced extra long waits. As someone who struggles due to life long issues that bothers me most.

I don't think I have watched a POV for the Shanghai version but for some reason I expected it would be a bit longer. Do you know how it compares with Hagrids at Universal?
As for crossing over, it will likely just take some getting used to but it looked like the area to cross over is a bit narrow which will also be a problem for larger guests. Also, I suspect folks in China are a bit more attuned to following rules.
Perhaps if it becomes a big issue, especially for disabled guests maybe they'll remove a light cycle station and add another seated car.

I watched a podcast where Disney is adjusting the seating for “overly large” people.
Is this a virtual ride? I can not do any ride virtual.

Doesn't sound great for us lol I do think it will be okay with the crossing over. I think if we can do FOP though we can do this. I have not been to Hagrid's in universal yet. I am admittedly a bit concerned about riding for me but given it's about 2 minutes I hope I'll be fine. It seems better positioning for me which makes FOP hard - I often get hurt by CMs who are not gentle even if I warn them. I already worry about disabled guests having to wait too long. I went from wanting the back row to deciding I'll just try it once given the insane wait times once you get in due to how many ride in the back. Given I use DAS a 30-60 min wait for just the small area will be worse than if I get wrenched into a poor position.

Yup....tall and large people will have an issue with getting on the ride vehicle. Not sure why people are surprised, there has been a "cycle" out by Space Mountain for people to try going back 4 or 5 years?

There are also some interesting reports from women with larger chests, having to “adjust” in order to get into position. Ladies, you have been warned! 😂😂
I’m a coaster wimp but I so want to try this, and I think I’ll feel secure enough on the bike seat to be able to do it, even if I have my eyes shut. The fear of coasters for me is a fear of falling out, which is why I love Big Thunder but bailed on Slinky. It’s all about perception and being secure.

From the wikipedia page for Tron (Shanghai) - Wikipedia LinkTron Lightcycle Power Run Chinese: 创极速光轮 Inversions 0 Duration ~2:00 Capacity 1,680 riders per hour G-force 4 BTMRR is 3.5 min, RNRRC is 1m 22s, SDRC is 2 min, SM is 3.5 min, EE is 3.5 min, 7DMT is 3 min Basically looks like the old standard was 3 to 3.5 min and the new standard is 2 min

I told my husband “ there are small kids riding it, it can’t be that bad”…….

Apparently from what I have read (here and elsewhere) I’ve been at least twice since the test seats were put at SM and I’ve never seen them. I didn’t even know they were there until I read about it online last week LOL

I can do 7DMT you’re never off the ground. Slinky is high up on a metal frame, whatever you want to call the ride vehicles.

I worried about that too. On Slinky Dog you feel so exposed because there’s nothing around it. After I got over that I do love Slinky Dog. Still can’t shake the fear of the open area of Expedition Everest though.
