I am more concerned about going to New York then any city in Florida.....and that is based on real crime, not political bias and fear.
Fwiw, we were just in Manhattan two weeks ago. I was impressed with how clean it was (for a major metropolitan city) and how few homeless people we saw. FauxNews would have the populace believe it’s a cesspool.

What I see is that the pent-up covid demand is finally coming to an end. Because of Robin's travel agency, I can see travel trends months before they happen. So between the post covid demand subsiding and the inflation costs catching up, people are starting to look twice before booking a WDW trip.
For example, Robin has a client wanting to go next spring. Right now, for a family of four, they are looking at a cost of around $10k for airfare, room at Coronado Springs, Park Tickets and $1500 in food/spending money. They can afford the trip, but are not pulling the trigger because of that high cost.
Even with our amazing ticket deals, the cost of tickets is more than the cost of the airfare if we travel off-peak. Obviously at Christmas the airfares were higher, but I’ve been looking at the potential cost of a trip outside of the main school holidays (for when I retire) and the park tickets would be the biggest cost. That’s the main reason why I don’t know if or when we will go back. As much as we love iFlorida, it seems ridiculous to spend more money on park tickets alone than it would cost us to have a week away somewhere closer to home. We know a 1/2 dozen families who are no longer coming because it's too expensive. They will still come to Florida so we'll see them which is great, but they are not doing Disney. My really good friend from Iowa is retiring and she and her husband have been priced out of the parks. Her retirement dreams of visiting Disney and taking her grand kids have changed dramatically. She's still coming to Florida for Jan-March, but annual passes won't be happening. She is a long time visitor (much longer than us) and knows how much Disney has cut out from the parks too. We are going to do a resort stay at Jambo in a 2BR. She has made a massive list of things to see & do in Florida and most are free or very low cost. She and her hubby will be in the Clermont area so I am super excited to spend time with them. It is going to be very different from what we talked about when we moved here in Jan 2021.

All cities have their good and bad areas. Some are a lot worse then others. We live outside of Baltimore, on of the most violent cities in America. But that does not mean all of Baltimore is a violent cesspool. There a lots of areas in the city that are clean and safe. The West side of Baltimore is not one of them.

In May we drove to NC for a destination wedding and my youngest's SO was counseled by his family to be careful and not go out alone. None of his family will travel south, specifically Florida, until 'conditions' come to resolution. I've no idea what any of that means but I was a bit taken aback. It had me looking around to see if he was being singled out in any way but I noticed nothing - great trip, great local interactions. Wait.....What?
What are they warning them about? Do NC people seek out Northerners to rob, beat, rape or murder? I have not seen a single news article or Federal Government alert of such activity?
And Florida....What "conditions" needed to be resolved to travel there for vacation? Again, I have seen no reports of attacks or anything....no roaming gangs of Floridians seeking left leaning travelers.
People are weird, irrational and borderline delusional in their fears.
I am more concerned about going to New York then any city in Florida.....and that is based on real crime, not political bias and fear.
Not so fast. I am a Florida resident, and I witnessed a damn Yankee shamefully mispronounce Pecan Pie. The injury sustained by enduring my aggressive eye rolling could have been avoided if only the travel advisories had been heeded.

To be fair i know a "dreamer" who thanks to new Florida laws will not be visiting until she can get her status legal (she didn't know her status until a handful of years ago)

I think this “travel advisory” site has spread alarm across many in the LGBTQ+ and some racial groups. It certainly made the news here. And I think certainly some groups have a genuine fear of what it would mean were they to fall ill, for example. floridatraveladvisory.com/Whatever the reality, De Santis and his policies are making many people think twice.

Inasmuch as he has declared war on certain groups and moved to curtail the personal freedoms of others, this fear/loathing toward the state is understandable. Cheers.

I was in San Fran less than two months ago. Stayed right in the middle of the city and even walked out for coffee at 6am. No issues and no more homeless around than Louisville. But yes, I agree with your other points.

FauxNews would have the populace believe it’s a cesspool. I've been going to NYC since the times when Times Square was mostly peep shows. I've seen homeless people, mentally ill people, hookers, whatever. I've never felt unsafe. It's like any other big city. Educate yourself. Know where to go/not go. Know how to not look like a target. Act like you belong there.

Yes the article does mention attendance. Apparently the 100th vs the 50th is not drawing what they anticipated. Since multi quote doesn’t work for me…. Less complicated would be a delight! As far as Disney goes. What I see is that the pent-up covid demand is finally coming to an end. Because of Robin's travel agency, I can see travel trends months before they happen. spot on. The ticket prices alone. I hated the reservation system and thankful they came to their senses. One, I don’t know what park I want to be in months out, we also like to park hop. Also putting out that much months in advance for tickets, I always waited till the trip got closer.
