Ugh. Too much drama. But probably the governor has more to lose in this most recent round than Disney. Long term, if that loophole gets undone, this could look like it was a bad decision by Disney.
Here's hoping the loophole sticks. A state takeover of RCID because a politician was looking for media coverage never made much sense.

I excerpted this quote from the governor's office: "We are pleased the new Governor-appointed board retained multiple financial and legal firms to conduct audits and investigate Disney’s past behavior." Past behavior? They could have said: "We are happy to announce that huge amounts of tax-payer dollars are being spent to find some dirt on somebody that dissed us because we did some petty shit to them." It's like I'm in junior-high. LOL!

I understand Flordia's attorney general is now weighing in and demanding records from the previous Reedy Creek Board. I have been a Republican most of my life and I always believed that we stood for small government and fiscal responsibility, but it looks like that is not so in this case. This is not going to look good if the governor decides to run for President.

At the very least I think Mickey should run for Governor of Florida.

He'd have to win the primary first, and the other guy has more election experience....

I just love that every news source I’ve seen is making fun of that knucklehead. It’s gone international! Pretty much the whole world is laughing at Desantis right now. Makes me so happy to see!

I think it would be more "interesting" if the governor had to pay for the lawyers out of his governor's budget rather than having all the taxpayers pay for his political stunts.

He's dug so far he has surely hit water by now. He should drop the shovel and start bailing.
Cheers.

I agree with Bob.
The governor got very angry about the position Disney took and seems like he's decided to retaliate against us, including the naming of a new board to oversee the property and the business," Iger reportedly said during the meeting. "In effect, to seek to punish a company for its exercise of a constitutional right. And that just seems really wrong to me."
Our point on this is that any action that supports those efforts simply to retaliate for a position the company took sounds not just anti-business, but it sounds anti-Florida," he added. "And I'll just leave it at that."

I thought Iger really took the high road and I loved his comments. He is classy.

Only a fool would Sue is states largest source of outside revenue Or someone who wants to run for a bigger political office and is trying to demonstrate how tough he is. Let DeSantis pay the legal fees for his stunt himself.

The Real issue is, a Public Company that has customers that both agree and disagree with the positions they took should NEVER have gotten involved in a political position period. That is the issue with our Corporations today. InBev is going to take a huge hit.
