I arrived at the Riviera today, room wasn't ready when I got here, but I didn't expect it to be, so I went down and grabbed a quick lunch downstairs, and lo and behold the china and silverware is back. No more paper boxes and plastic silverware. I was so pleased to see this as that nice quick service was one thing that sold me on the Riviera. I also had one of the cookies that everyone has been raving about. It is a good cookie, I just like fewer chocolate chips. I prefer more nuts and cookie than chocolate.
Room was ready at 3:00, yay. I have found that if you are here early and let them know you are here, they will let Mousekeeping know that you are waiting. It took me a minute to decide if I did get the Preferred View that I booked, and I honestly think that if you can see water and not a parking lot, they consider it Preferred. I overlook the waterway between the Riviera and the left side of the Caribbean beach. If I knew how to post a picture, I would, but sorry I don't or I would no longer have that stupid alien picture as my avatar either.
Anyways, I mainly wanted to share that the dishes and silverware are back at Primo Piatta. Will be here until next Saturday then getting on the Fantasy for a week.

I also prefer more nuts, less chocolate. Gideons is not my thing either.

Cookie dough is just a carrier for chocolate. Definitely NO nuts.

We had a similar view a few trips back in a standard studio at RIV. If you looked to the immediate right, you could see the kids pool.

Not much in the way of dining for this trip as I am saving myself for meals on the cruise next week.
I did have lunch one at the Quick Service up on the hill in Japan-this is becoming a favorite of mine.
And I had dinner one night at Nine Dragons. I know this place has gotten some non-favorable reviews in the past, but I have eaten there now twice in the last two years and was pleased with both the service and the food. I had the Kung Pao Duo of shrimp and chicken and it was very good. Chicken was very, very tender. I also had the Raspberry lemonade tea and I thought it delucious--it came with refills. I also had the pot stickers--good but a little on the spicy side.
I had the apple pecan hand pie from Friars Nook. I thought it ok, very few pecans, though which was disappointing. I would eat it again if I was in the area, but would not search it out if not close by.
Lunch today was Chicken Guy at Disney Springs. The kids combo fills me up, and I think the chicken is delicious. Not many places at WDW I can get a meal for under $10.00. I walked in with no wait around 1:15, by the time I left, there was a line of about 30 people waiting to get in.
Chicken wings at Bar Riva the other night--very good--I prefer them without the garlic aoili. I also had the mint lemonade--very good as well, but I was not offered a refil here.
Breakfast the other morning was at Primo Piatto and I had the banana bread that many had said was so good.
Tonight is probably my biggest meal--going over to Sebastians for dinner when my laundry is done. I will add my review on that when I return this evening.
Just got back from eating at Sebastian's over at Caribbean Beach. I would definitely return. Food was gracious plenty and it was all very good. It is served family style, all you can eat and includes a beautiful salad, rolls and a cheddar biscuit in the shape of a Mickey head. steak, chicken, pulled pork, fish (new to the menu), rice and beans, stewed tomatoes, and brocollini. There a flavored iced tea that was very good, can't remember the flavor and then there is a pineapple bread pudding with ice cream and caramel sauce. The interior of the restaurant is very nice and relaxing. I believe the cost was $35 for adults and you do get a DVC or AP discount. Well worth the short distance from the Riviera over to Sebastians if you are looking for something a little different.

And this morning it was the breakfast platter at Primo Piatto but with all bacon and no Italian sausage. Very good--again, love that the china and silverware are back. Makes it feel more upscale than a regular quick service. Tomorrow we get on the Fantasy, so no more reviews from WDW for this trip.

Thanks for sharing about Primo Piatto. I'll be staying at the Riviera in July and look forward to enjoying a few meals there.
