I'll admit up front my cruise is not on DCL.
But, googling for things I should take mostly comes up with lists that include sunscreen and motion sickness medicines.
The one thing I've found that was useful advise was a non surge protected power strip (it's supposed to be delivered today!).
What other things would be handy that might not be obvious to someone who hasn't been on a cruise ship before?

A small backpack or the like to carry things to and from the pool.
Good luck with your power strip….. I had a short extension cord taken from me as I went through security once. They aren’t allowed. I did get it back after the cruise.

I remember that a regular extension cord was allowed but no power strips with any sort of breaker, electronic protection.
Make sure to get some compact power converters since your cabin may have some plugs that are not "US standard".

It's been a while since we cruised but some things off the top of my head are: - an extra card (old membership card or the like) that you can place in your light switch so you just always have it there. (I don't know if this is DCL-specific or not) - reusable water bottle - instead of a power strip, a multi-port charger (with several USB ports). We take one when we travel all the time. - tote bag to carry to the pool - Motion-sickness patches. I prefer those to dramamine.

Also keep in mind that they do send you a package with the do's and dont's of what to bring.

Yep, I figured this out when my power strip arrived yesterday - I noticed it had an on/off switch that was actually labeled on / reset. Why would you need reset if there is no surge protection? I looked back at the description and found this But the very next paragraph said this: Guess I should read the fine print before buying! Oh well, I ordered a direct plug with multiple outlets and usb ports - no cord to it, no switches. That should work.

Bonine or generic Meclazine is what I take for every cruise. Start it the morning of your flight. Then I transition to taking it before bed. Works!
What is the cruiseline?
Take your Disney refillable cup. This way you don’t have to bother with the paper cups and it holds more soda!
Bring a sweater if you’re sailing during the summer. The air conditioning keeps the ship really cold!

Gorilla magnet hooks for hanging hats, visors, lanyards, etc. on the walls for extra storage. The walls are all metal and the magnets hold just fine. Even the ceiling is metal. I had one on the ceiling in the bathroom to hang my hair towel on my last DCL cruise.
A dry/wet bag for swimsuits or whatever that hasn't dried before you need to disembark.

My husband left our cabin without taking his card and was stuck out of the room until he found our room steward, as I was on the veranda and couldn't hear him knocking. If deciding to take Dramamine or Bonine, purchase the non-drowsy. I had the generic and it kept putting me to sleep so I started taking it before bed.

I looked back at the description and found this Reset is circuit breaker to protect against shorts in any equipment that is plugged into the strip. A surge protection would protect any equipment that is plug into it from dirty power coming from the source (the ship). We still take a lipstick battery should we need to charge a phone when off the boat. It can be easier than finding a plug and needed to carry a converter if you re someplace that doesn't use US plugs. We also have a small set of image stabilized binoculars that we carry with us.

When we went on DCL I brought a couple of giant plastic cups from the local gas station. I drank my Mountain Dew and then cleaned, dried, and packed them. They were awesome at the pop machine on the ship.

Towel clips to clip towels to the loungers. Pool bag (I like the Aloha brand waterproof shoulder bags) think about how you want to carry cash/credit cards off the boat- are you going somewhere where you will swim and there is not a locker? If no locker consider a waterproof case to keep on your person. metal hooks-will stick to your cabin walls to hang “stuff” depending on island excursions you might need water shoes. If you have young kids -pack some individual snacks, despite what everyone thinks food is not always easily available 24/7.
