Disney have achieved the impossible, an even more complicated version of Genie+
You now buy it for a specific park. The cost varies by park, and there is an option to buy it for all 4 parks at the same price as just for MK.
This is a tweet of the pricing for June 27th
Edit: I have no idea what a “pin option” is but autocorrect seemed to think it was OK. 😂

Disney just loves dropping these bombshells on Fridays.

This tells me they weren't selling much G+ at Animal Kingdom and there wasn't one price that made sense for all 4 parks. Really the other 3 parks should be more like $25, and AK maybe $15.

Okay that's actually not so bad. I didn't use Genie+ for MK or multiple parks. I do dislike the on demand pricing though. I'd rather know in advance what it might cost.

LOL I hadn't seen that when I guessed prices. EPCOT is on the cheaper side. This will change to equal the others when Moana opens and Ratatouille moves from LL+ to G+.

It gets even “better”.
Seemingly, according to Len Testa of Touring Plans, there was no IT budget for any in-app changes. So if you buy it for MK and then decide you want to park hop, even though it’s the same price you will have to go to GS to get it upgraded. I assume they’re hoping to gain from guests leaving money on the table by not queuing to get a partial refund if they add G+ for a second park.

I am just so anti-Genie +. I just keep hoping by 2025 ( my next trip) it will have gone away.

If doing MK buy for all 4 parks period. Or go to GS to see what they can do. I honestly wish they had had this a couple weeks ago. I might have purchased it more.

On first reading I think this may be ok once they do away with the reservation system. Why? If I have daily park schedule flexibility (which we don't now due to reservation availability) then I can check the G+ prices for the day and quickly decide which park to visit. I'm 75 and I don't do park hopping anymore so I can see how this might be a little different for those that do.

It means another decision to make, especially if you have park hoppers. Do you buy for all 4 parks in case you decide to park hop later in the day, or just buy for your first park? If you pay for the 4-parks G+ and don’t end up hopping you’ve wasted money whereas if you buy for one park and then decide to hop you have to go to GS to get a partial refund. If there was an in-app option to upgrade to the 4-parks option it would make things simpler, you’d just pay the difference. Instead you have to decide that before 7am (if you want to book the popular rides). If you know you will be hopping or won’t be, it’s not a problem. But it takes away some of the spontaneity when they’ve already said they’re removing park reservations to increase that flexibility.

It just makes for more planning and confusing to make more decisions to me...we rarely park hop theses days but usually by the time you do Genie + may be useless anyway unless going into MK

Disney will figure out every unique way to make more $$$, which they consider is the name of the game. Their job is not to make magic or memories or cheerful people, although those things might and do happen. Their bottom-line job is to make Money. The more the better. Which makes the stockholders happy. Cheers
