I love going to see movies opening weekend at the AMC Disney Springs ! They make it special. I can’t believe anybody would miss the Little Mermaid & Indiana Jones & the Haunted Mansion On the BIG SCREEN this Summer

We built an in-home theater just before the onset of Covid. The timing was perfect because we spent the first few months watching movies on Disney+ on our 120" screen. I know that most people don't have such luxuries but I totally dread going to an actual theater nowadays, for all the same reasons posted in this thread.

I really have not hear much buzz about its release.
I have my fingers crossed that the Indiana Jones movie is good. Tomorrow night is go time, for the last time, for Mr. Jones.

The answer is more then a yes or no. Its not that there are not blockbusters, Super Mario made 1.3 billion this year. Last year we had Avatar, Top Gun and Jurassic Park make 2.3B, 1.5B and 1.0B respectively. What I see is not that people don't want to go to the Theaters, I see that quality movies are in decline. Movies are either messaging to hard or are the same copy cat of the past 6 movies. Missing is just good original movies, that are either thrilling, tell a good story, funny or simply entertaining. Disney is in Fatigue mode. Why?....Nothing original, milk franchises to death, live action after live action....and become Movie irrelevant the past few years. Disney's last Billion Dollar movie was 2019.....And Disney had seven make over a Billion Dollars. To be fair, there have only been five Billion dollar movies since 2020. I completely agree. They have not been original at all. I am tired of live action remakes.

I think covid effected the movie industry. But in terms of Disney, they have hurt themselves with their lack of innovation. I am tired of all the live action remakes. Little mermaid is one of their biggest flops. They need to be creative again.

Muppets version of Haunted Mansion was released directly to Disney+ last year I do believe. Still have to watch it myself. This year’s live action version they’ve been rather quiet about. I’d be surprised if it does well… I think covid effected the movie industry. But in terms of Disney, they have hurt themselves with their lack of innovation. I am tired of all the live action remakes. Little mermaid is one of their biggest flops. They need to be creative again. Let’s not let personal feelings affect statement of actual results. Little Mermaid is not nearly as much of a flop as their recent original offerings…. In fact will likely be their most successful non-Marvel movie this year.

I do not think it will be the biggest non-Marvel movie by Disney this year. I am pretty sure Indiana Jones will top Little Mermaid. The Wish movie has a chance as well.

Round of drinks this weekend or Labor Day on whoever “loses”, whenever we see each other next.

We do like seeing a movie at the AMC in Disney Springs. We usually go in the afternoon and get the cheaper tickets. But aside from that, movie theaters are just not the draw for us.

Yep, still a flop. Just not as much of one as their recent “original” features.

Being I’m not one who typically gives a shit what others say, especially in terms of reviews, I took myself to Little Mermaid earlier this week and found it quite enjoyable, indeed. We shall see if there are any other movies in store this weekend. 95+ degrees rules out any possibility of park time…

You will hate it I am sure…..hahaha

Saw Indiana Jones today and still love going to the movies at AMC . Plus the Previews are fun . There’s actually a lot of movies about to be released that look great ! I have a big screen hanging on my wall too but that’s not the same experience . When you watch any of the movies at Epcot for China or France or Canada … do you wish they were not on a big screen to share the experience with friends and family?
