Baby steps is right but any positives are good. I'm still aware some other changes are likely in the works. The 2pm no reservations is big. If it happens for spring break we can totally wing our first day.
Would be nice if photopass was free for APs too......

I agree with a lot of people that it’s certainly not every change I want to see but it’s definitely heading the right direction.

Yes it makes me pretty optimistic that AP sales will end up coming back some day. I think DVC members should always be able to purchase APs. Fix this Iger! Agree. It’s a real kick in the teeth to DVC owners. Pretty sure APs and DVC owners helped The Mouse get back up and running after the clousure!

We hardly use it since it’s just the 2 of us now, but we used it for MNSSHP. I’m sure they make enough off of first time visitors that letting APs have it doesn’t really cost them much if anything.

I'm puzzled by not needing a park reservation after 2pm being a huge deal. You don't need one now, right?
Right now, if I have a park reservation for AK and I want to hop to Epcot after 2pm, I don't need a reservation at Epcot. Is this change removing the need to "tap in" to the first park to go to the second park for AP holders?
I don't think the language is clear enough; it could mean multiple things.

This upcoming change will allow a passholder to enter most theme parks ( as their first park of the day) after 2 pm without needing a park reservation.

Is this change removing the need to "tap in" to the first park to go to the second park for AP holders? I don't think the language is clear enough; it could mean multiple things. You have to tap into the first park where you have a reservation to hop at 2 pm. For most, it’s probably not a big deal, but on our Nov and Dec stays we were really impacted by the 2pm rule and tapping into a park first. November. Hurricane/TS Nicole was coming. I’m going to make up days because I cannot remember for sure. We were going to Fantasmic on Tuesday night. Rain was moving in from Nicole on Tuesday. Monday we are sitting at Ale & Compass so we decide that we should go to Fantasmic Monday night. We had Epcot booked. DH works from the resort many days and joins me after work. Switching to Studios is nearly impossible. So, it was easy for me because I would tap in at Epcot. Not so easy for DH and it’s a good thing I picked what we did. I switched him to AK. He said he could easily take a bus, walk to the AK entrance, tap in and get back over his lunch hour. He did. As it turns out, I’m glad he didn’t walk to Epcot at opening since the line to enter was back to the bridge that goes to BWV. It was post wine and dine weekend and Epcot was slammed. The Skyliner dumping into IG didn’t help. This was a total pain. But, we did it to see Fantasmic a night earlier. The weather it turns out on Tuesday was really bad. December. I was down and out & tossing my cookies from a migraine when I woke up on the morning I had Epcot booked. DH had Studios booked. We were doing Hollywood and Vine for dinner and then seeing Fantasmic! I had to go tap into Epcot in order to get into Studios. My head was pounding, I couldn’t really see and I’m laying there trying to figure out how in the world I was going to manage tapping in at Epcot. The CMs at Studios are less than friendly about not tapping in too. I didn’t want to take a chance. So…when I finally could manage, I made my way to my car and drove to Studios to park. Fortunately, they let me park there. That was not always the case without a park reservation. Epcot was too big for me to walk through and I’d have to make it all the way back to IG for the Skyliner. As luck would have it, I obtained a great CM at the parking booth and nabbed a great parking spot. I slowly made my way to the Skyliner and went over to IG and tapped into Epcot. After wandering slowly around for a bit and killing about an hour at Epcot, I went back to Studios to tap in around 2 pm. Both of these situations were ridiculous. In both of these instances, the new 2 pm rule would have saved us. I’m pretty sure I would have been much better off when I was sick if I could have hung around the room till nearly 4 pm when we needed to leave for dinner at Studios. DH did take a bus and met me later. There was no way I could manage to go back to the car and get him at that point. I have never been a fan of park reservations. I dealt it with it though. These two situations made me very angry though.

I look at these and think that they do nothing to improve my perspective of Disney.
We fly down and don't get a rental car so parking is irrelevant.
We let our APs lapse during Covid, never expecting that Disney would not make them available again. So this doesn't make a difference.
Ride photos are no big deal. The photos are being take automatically and Disney makes them available in digital format so there is very little cost to Disney to make these available.
If Iger wants to do something, make APs available again. Being self-serving for a moment, even if only for those customers (DVC members) who bought long term into Disney. Raise the price (not a popular opinion I am sure) but include 3 LL (or even 2) per day plus Genie + in the price of the AP. Don't "nickel and dime" me.

Starting to throw us some bones but until APs are back, doesn't mean much. APs probably won't be back until 50th is officially over (I'm thinking APs back April 1) plus they have Tron AP previews. Let's see if anything else is announced this week. I'm canceling our Feb trip b/c DH doesn't have AP and I'm not buying any more day tickets.

As I posted above, back a few, at least they aren’t taking more away and charging for it. My friends coming down in March and April are happy about resort parking. They do not own dvc so that adds up. The one stays for two weeks at a deluxe. The other one stays off site more since they started charging for parking. They still have a ways to go. I hope they do more and soon!

I cancelled our Dec 2022 trip and I shortened the May 2023 because I simply had low confidence that I'd want to deal with all the hoops that have been put in place. Are these a step in the right direction? Sure. But let's be real -- these are baby-step-nibbles. Significant unwinding needs to happen for true value to be seen, felt and realized.

These items are a good first step, but more is needed. Particularly when it comes to Genie+ and other per person/day up-charges. IMO, this is where costs really add up and what might prohibit people from being able to experience the parks to their fullest. I'd also like to see California Grill go back to a regular dining menu. I hope after "the 50th," that CG will be back to normal.
I'm surprised that free parking at resorts for overnight resort guests is back. I thought it was a shameless money grab at the time it was implemented, but that was years ago at this point. I'd like to see changes to recent money grabs.
AP should definitely include PhotoPass also, IMO.

I’d love, love, love to see Tables in Wonderland come back. I know it’s a dream, but a girl can dream!
