I wouldn't buy, but I would like to stay there just once. Bucket list is to eventually stay in all DVC resorts. Right now I am just missing Vero, Polynesian and the new California villas. I think I would enjoy spending a day or two just exploring the Ft. Wilderness area, but I sure would miss that breakfast buffet at Trail's End.

No interest in buying or staying there. I really feel this is the wrong direction for DVC. Is DVC going the way of the moderates to values? These trailers are as far from “ deluxe” as you can get. Hated camping as a kid, not gonna start now. Who knows, maybe Uncle Eddy will be their new mascot. Sorry, I digress.

Massive - no way in hell - hard pass! My first stay at Ft Wilderness was 1982. In my 41 years of regular visits I have not repeated it. I enjoy visiting and that's it.
This has us dropping our "must stay at all WDW DVC resorts" too. Not sure I'd ever stay.

Zero interest in buying but if the point charts are favorable I might consider using points there. I doubt they’ll be favorable though.

We enjoy RVing and have stayed at Ft. Wilderness before. Depending on the point chart, would consider staying there but would not buy there. It does seem like an odd choice as a DVC resort, and kind of a downgrade.

No buyers yet in the poll. This resort could be mirroring its movie division....making a resort that most don't want.

Same here, hell no. I don’t even get what they are trying to do, making it a DVC.

Has Disney started removing the old cabins? Started on new DVC cabins? My brother has a reservation in a cabin for our November family trip. Most of us stay at Boulder Ridge, but he is not a DVC member and stays in the cabins so he can bring his little dog. May be able to book a cabin on points for him sometime in the future.

Nope. We love the Fort and have some ancient history there but we have a sufficient number of points located where we want to be. We might give it a try sometime using our current points or on a cash basis.

I voted, "Wait... what?" because that is exactly how I reacted. Trailers don't add up to my perception of DVC. Then again, neither does the PVB or GF hotel room conversion into DVC. The only part of the PVB/GF hotel room inclusion is that they are the 'deluxe' resorts. Trailers, whether in the Poconos or off of Rt. 9 at the Jersey shore, aren't my perception of Deluxe Accommodation location or amenities. We're not in the points market anymore but if we were those trailers points would have to be at trailer park level, which doesn't sound like DVC's current point cost trend.
We probably wouldn't use our points at Ft. Wilderness. We rather stay at BLT. Our eldest and youngest would love to return to the Ft. Wilderness campground trailers and are delighted at the possibly be able to do so on DVC points. I have to say we enjoyed having our kids there in '92 and '94. Nice not having to worry about kid noise. The golf cart experience; ripping around the campground, parking at the boat docks to catch the boat to MK, etc. was fun. For us it definitely was an elevated camping experience with provided housekeeping, a huge bathroom (3 kids!) and seperate sleeping area (although our son would inevitably spent the night out on the couch by our murphy bed). We have a lot of nostalgia for the campgrounds.

No buyers yet in the poll. This resort could be mirroring its movie division....making a resort that most don't want. Well, a poll among us - surely we are a slightly different crowd than what they are looking to get. I like to assume that a certain amount of market research was done before this decision was made, but it's always easy to think otherwise. I just think of a young couple with kids standing at the sales kiosk, being shown images of "private luxury cabins" in a "wilderness setting" where the family can have family time and the beach is there and other "camping-lite" activities without actually going through the trouble of camping. Not to mention MK "just a short boat ride away" and then monorail to Epcot. And the people being sold these images, being young, have probably never camped or anything so it's all romantic.

My two-word summary of this is "gateway" ... um ... "offering." I think MagicOwners are overwhelmingly through the gateway and down the DVC road. Perhaps we should offer a prize to whichever MagicOwner first owns there. It is interesting -- and in my view, gratifying because consistent with Walt's interests and the "wilderness accessible to all" history of the U.S. National Parks -- that DVC wilderness-themed offerings now span a considerable spectrum, from Fort Wilderness to Boulder Ridge to Copper Creek. I wonder if Mickey is thinking about that?

Nope, never, no way we would ever buy there. If we were to ever buy something outside of our current OKW points, it would be VGC for DL trips.
I grew up in the foothills of the Adirondacks. Never wanted to camp as a kid and sure as hell don't want to do so or simulate any form of it as an adult (a fully equipped RV might be about as far as I'd go towards "roughing it" but doubtful I'd do that either). I'm also a mosquito magnet and rather allergic to furry creatures so just being in a wooded area where there could be furry pets and bugs aplenty would not be the least bit relaxing for me so not sure we'd even want to try staying there on points if the charts are reasonable.
Growing up a ½ hour from Saratoga Springs is probably why that resort has absolutely no appeal to me either. A WDW resort or just a trip to FL isn't an escape from real life if it reminds me of places I grew up near/around. That's probably why we love OKW so much...because it feels like a vacation all on its own and looks nothing like anyplace in NY.
