Been a while and remember that I used to be able to request an upper floor at AKVK and SSR (split stay for September trip) but the option is no longer available. Is there a way to make this request outside the My plans page on my Disney Experience?
Thanks in advance.

Contact MS by phone, chat or email. Thanks, I will give that a try. I tend to do email with the contact us form they have. Pretty easy that way.

FWIW, we were one for two with our BWV and Vero room requests. Both submitted via email to MS. It's really hit or miss.

We email our room requests. We have been very successful in getting our request or better.
We have been told to start making room requests around 7-10 days out.

I just modified our trip for next month and made a request with MS for a specific building at SSR. Should I still email a request 7-10 days before and who are we emailing? Do we email direct to the resort?

Hi! Please don't interpret my question as anything except curiosity... Why do you make room requests? Is there something specific that you like (or don't like)? I have never made one. We've had some awesome rooms and a few less-deireable, but I guess I've never felt strongly enough to make the effort of submitting a request. Thanks in advance....I'm curious if I'm missing out on something.

We always request a room not on ground level about a month after I book. Then follow up with a call to MS near our arrival date. About 2 weeks out. Always got an above ground floor.

Thanks in advance....I'm curious if I'm missing out on something. Some rooms have different views. Other requests we have done was we prefer not being on the ground floor, where people can walk by and look in your room (if curtains are open). Even with requests they are hit or miss. We asked for a high level room at PVB once to have a better fireworks view, and lo and behold we got the upper floor, but palm trees blocking our view. Lol

That goes for DVC or a regular WDW resort. For some the location matters, for some it doesn't. And with any location, there are tradeoffs. I'll use BWV as an example. For the BW view rooms, we always request "high floor near Jellyrolls." I love the view from that area, but...it's a long walk to the lobby. BWV pool/garden view we request "close to the lobby" because there are no pool/garden views that stand out to us, so the convenience of being more centrally located is more important. For BWV standard view, we request "high floor, near the bus stop" because we don't want to be near the main entrance load/unload area due to noise.

Thanks in advance....I'm curious if I'm missing out on something. I can speak for us as well. When we have BW view rooms, we prefer the 5th floor as we like the view from up there. And the section closest to Dueling Pianos (and farthest from the lobby) is our preferred. However, there are a couple of rooms with solid partitions on the balcony that limit the view, so we request not to get those.
Cheers.

Thanks in advance....I'm curious if I'm missing out on something. Hi, it’s more of building location or floors, not an actual room request. People have some areas or buildings they like better or floors due to views or some may not want an upper floor in walk up resorts such as OKW & SSR. Or some may not want a lower level, or area. For instance some if staying at OKW with a car like staying further back and enjoy the privacy. I like staying near hospitality House. If that’s not available I request the building or the next over from where HH technically ends. At AKV I like an upper floor for the view. I don’t like the 2nd floor because that is actually the 1st floor where everyone going from the lobby to the elevators walk through. If someone was staying in a studio at the Poly with a park view they may want upper floor so they can see over the bungalows. Hope that helps explain it.

We always request the closest standard SSR building to Disney Springs. Walkable.

We were there in April and had the lobby level which was excellent for viewing the animals. We will be at Kidani again in October and I was thinking about requesting a lower floor again. Am I missing something?
