Sometimes it does. We always put in a room request for BCV, and I usually wait the longest there for my room to be ready. We had a standard view at RIV and I did not put in a room request - had a view of the parking lot - meh. We usually don't put in request at VGF or AKV One of our first trips to Riviera, we forgot to put in a room request and got the loading dock view.... won't make th great mistake again Ugh. We were there last time. Lobby level too. I’ll be coming back to look at suggestions before our next riviera trip.

So we are at Kidani right now. We have not been in a long time. First of all the usual room not ready happened after checking in online on our drive to the resort (2:45 minute drive), for our Savanah room, and we ended up having to go to the desk to try and get a room. They did find us a room, but in my opinion it’s not Magic when check in time is 4pm (it was 5:30), they gave us a room on the sunset, and of course the Savannah view. But…holy crap these hallways are INSANE! To get to Mara to/from room was 1.8 miles round trip by foot…30 minutes round trip.
I can see that I should have put in a request…on the other hand, how much longer would we have had to wait for a room…. If we stay again we will ask to be near the Zazu elevator/parking garage, not the poomba elevator.

Also after measuring halls I am totally convinced that it's the shape that makes them feel longer. Many resorts are way further from lobbies & bus stops than Kidani. I do like beong by Rafiki elevator for easy access to that parking garage (it's not just on Zazu side) for ease of getting around. We spend a lot of time at the pool so that is important.

We put in a request in June for Kidani, near lobby...we were put in the very last room in the hallway. Jambo lobby was only 1.5 mins longer walk than the Kidani lobby....I found that hilarious. It was very quiet though, and still had a nice view, but geez, what a walk. This is the second time I've gotten the complete opposite of what I requested. Last June at BWV, I also put near lobby, higher floor. got the higher floor, but again, LAST room in the hallway. Helped with the HS walk, but again, hilarious. We are going to try again for our Oct stay at BWV. I think we'll try the email option, since several of y'all had success w that method.

I'm curious... why do you want an upper floor at Kidani? We were there in April and had the lobby level which was excellent for viewing the animals. We will be at Kidani again in October and I was thinking about requesting a lower floor again. Am I missing something? The lobby is on the second floor. And some rooms on that level can look out onto the holding pens for the animals, which would block the view of the Savanna. I would want third floor or higher to try and avoid that.

We are going to try again for our Oct stay at BWV. I think we'll try the email option, since several of y'all had success w that method. The first time I ever stayed at Kidani, was with my daughter around 2018/19,. Had never been but read about the elevators, long walks. So I requested near elevator. Being a complete novice to Kidani, though a member since 97, I had no clue about Kidani. well we were somewhat not to far from the elevator a few hallways down but I think it was the middle elevator. Honestly it was so confusing. We really looked like accidental tourists. We would get on one, then be wondering around, then saying no we need this elevator. it was all good, we really enjoyed our stay. Once we could get to and from our room. same with BW, was finally able to get a room, have always wanted to stay, but never could get a night or two in all these years, which is why I did another add on a couple of years ago there and sold SSR. Prior, We finally caught one, again being novice there but hearing about long and winding roads. Request put in. Got the very last room at the end of the hallway. We finally figured out exits to the pool, etc. I actually loved our view, pool facing the private pool. I have no desire for a balcony view of the Boardwalk being on display, as I use my balcony at night. I don’t like those bump out balconies that you are just out there or when they had that clown pool view. same on next return far, far away. But again it was all good. Just a walk and was having some back issues at the time. I'm curious... why do you want an upper floor at Kidani? We were there in April and had the lobby level which was excellent for viewing the animals. We will be at Kidani again in October and I was thinking about requesting a lower floor again. I would want third floor or higher to try and avoid that. For me the lobby is on the second floor which means everyone returning ‘home’ has to walk through to get to their designated elevators. You basically are in the mist of lobby traffic, people, tired kids coming and going all through the hallways. Not that it’s their fault that’s how they get to their rooms. But to me the 2nd floor is just a hot mess. we ended up for one night, there. Because we extended due to flights prior to our stay. it was doable for one night. 2nd floor crowed and ewe. They gave us a handicapped room which obviously they wouldn’t if someone requested one but….what if someone who had one staying there needed/wanted to extend a night. Why give it to someone who didn’t need, want, or request it. You can’t tell me there was not one other room that was not handicap accessible the could not have moved us to. It was not prime season over the holidays. Balcony was large and deep, faced where peop,e came out from garage in the back. Where they were doing construction on the building roofs of the pool and had a partial view. It was one night so whatever. But if this is where they placed someone for a vacation room stay, no, just no.

My daughter requested that we not be on the ground floor at Bay Lake Tower. Her reason? She wants to ride the elevator.
