Been a while and remember that I used to be able to request an upper floor at AKVK and SSR (split stay for September trip) but the option is no longer available. Is there a way to make this request outside the My plans page on my Disney Experience? Thanks in advance. I'm curious... why do you want an upper floor at Kidani? We were there in April and had the lobby level which was excellent for viewing the animals. We will be at Kidani again in October and I was thinking about requesting a lower floor again. Am I missing something? Second floor near lobby. That'd be my Kidani request.

Thanks all! One more question.... Do you think room requests lower your chances of your room being ready early? I would think it does. Maybe that's why I've never done one. We generally arrive with groceries and liquid refreshments and I'm always super excited if I can skip the Bell Services storage.

No, but realize they don’t take a room as in number request. It would depend on where you requested and how many check outs they have. Meaning if they have more room requests and a busier area, that people that were checking out might lead to a longer check in. I’ve never found an issue with any of my requests. They say check in at 4 most of the time it is ready before.

We always put in a room request for BCV, and I usually wait the longest there for my room to be ready. We had a standard view at RIV and I did not put in a room request - had a view of the parking lot - meh. We usually don't put in request at VGF or AKV

Hi! Please don't interpret my question as anything except curiosity... Why do you make room requests? Is there something specific that you like (or don't like)? I have never made one. We've had some awesome rooms and a few less-deireable, but I guess I've never felt strongly enough to make the effort of submitting a request. Thanks in advance....I'm curious if I'm missing out on something. No worries.... As many others have already answered, I will give my example. For SSR, if we are planning a heavy pool trip, we prefer Paddock pool so we ask for either building next to the pool. At Christmas time, we will request Grand Stand section to be the first bus stop. The Christmas week buses are crowded. If we want heavy Disney Springs time, we will request Congress Park. When staying at AKV, if we plan on using th he pool, we request rooms near the elevator that is across from the pool entrance.

Sometimes....but it has to do more with when Mousecleaning can access the room, when you arrive and room cleaning schedule. We use insta cart these days. This eliminates having to worry when the room is ready and using bell services. Once we get our text that room is ready, we place our order. By the time we get in the room, get our owners lockers and unpack.... the groceries are delivered.

Thanks all! One more question.... Do you think room requests lower your chances of your room being ready early? I would think it does. Maybe that's why I've never done one. We generally arrive with groceries and liquid refreshments and I'm always super excited if I can skip the Bell Services storage. Probably. I'd imagine when the room is ready depends on a number of other factors (mousekeeping, occupancy, etc). I also think the less specific your request is, the more likely it can be granted quickly. Our last stay (split, BCV/BWV), the only thing I really cared about was *not* being on the first floor. I just prefer balconies to patios in most cases. We had a great room at BCV for a night, and it was ready when we stepped off the plane. The next morning I moved our stuff to BWV about 9 AM and went to ask the front desk about a ready room. They had one and told me I could choose, 1st or 2nd floor. I took 2nd. He said "OK great. We had you on the 1st floor, so we'll just make that change and you can head there right now." So I guess the advice is...if you do show up with a room not ready, and you aren't that picky on your request, you can always go ask about your options. And...even if it doesn't work out...you might be surprised. We had a Poly stay a couple of years ago where I *really* wanted to be back on the third floor...instead, we were 1st floor at the laundry room. Thought we'd hate it. Ended up loving it because we only had neighbors on one side. Made it very peaceful.

Glad to see I am not the only person who has requests, and thanks for all of the feedback and suggestions .

As always, you all are so helpful! Thank you so much. There are things here I had never considered and your information is valuable. I guess I've been lucky never to get a really "awful/undesirable" room. I may try a request next trip just to see how it goes.

The worse room I ever had was not because of a view or location within the resort. Nope, the worse room I had was at Boulder Ridge. It was on the ground level, near the door and the people in the room next to us had a ridiculous amount of kids that they did not control or watch. They actually sent them in the hall outside, right outside our door to play.....all day and night it seemed. So the worse room is the one next to the rude guests.
