Knew it was now “frowned upon”, but I never realized the double space after period was now “unacceptable”. If the device does it for me, so be it. Otherwise fuck that, I ain’t changing. I’m old. I double space when using an actual keyboard. It’s likely not the worst thing I’ll ever do…

I only care when writing grants and want to be proper. I don't care otherwise. My 15yo on the hand....

What we saw from the monorail was a further-out fence on the construction side - all the way to road. Looking from above may have been deceptive, but that's how it appeared. Of course, this was the start of a new work-week in September, after Labor Day, so maybe they moved things as the construction is moving ahead very quickly. Or maybe it was there and we just missed it from above. Definitely looked more restricted as of 7 September. Cheers.
So places just announced a closure yesterday but apparently it is due to trucks entering and leaving the grounds so much. There is nothing officially announced or when they plan to reopen. Stinks for Polynesian guests wanting to use the gym especially.

I used to enjoy afternoons/evenings listening to the piano player and band playing alternatively on the half hour. Mostly just lounging about and people watching while doing so. Alas, now it is only the pianist. As far as places to roam, you’ve got the lobby, various shops, and Enchanted Rose lounge. I loved listening to the big band too. It still bugs me they are no longer. I could listen for hours...... The piano is nice, but the full big band was just a unique experience. Our next trip, I'll have to ask if the pianist knows any Chopin or Liszt. I must admit watching someone pound out La Campanella is truly a musical marvel that I got to witness several years ago...it was someone that was in the Van Cliburn competition.

We enjoy the pools and hanging in the Main Building lobby. We stayed at the GFR in late August. It was our second stay at GFR. Our first stay was when it first opened about 35 years ago. Apparently the new construction was complete much sooner than expected and the rooms were offered at a very low price to annual pass holders. All of my DVC contracts are at Kidani. Over the last few visits, I have stayed at GFR and Poly because I have difficulty walking and recovering from major surgery. I wanted the convenience of the monorail. I was disappointed during our recent stay at GFR. The lobby was under constructed and detours along some pathways were longer. I do not recall entertainment in the lobby. I hope the monorail going through the lobby will not change the ambiance. We stayed in a studio. I was surprised that there was no refrigerator only a wine cooler which could hold some left overs. I cannot believe that there is a high demand for a wine cooler over a refrigerator. It did have a microwave and sink. Maybe, it was just me seeing it with older eyes and mobility issues but I felt the GFR is over rated. We also stayed at Poly which was much more enjoyable for us. It seemed more family orientated. This month we are going back to Kadani as I am slowly recovering from surgery. I love looking over the Savana while relaxing. As far as activities, I did not realize that the activities are online now. Thank you for mentioning on this thread, I will search for it before our visit this month.
