A cast member who is a friend of mine said there might be a good chance that either the Main Street Electrical Parade or Spectromagic might be returning sometime during the 100th year celebration. There was a nighttime parade planned for the WDW 50th. And it was cancelled. So whilst I’m hoping this might be true I’m sceptical. In any case it won’t be Spectromagic. WDW managed to effectively ruin those by failing to protect them from the elements, and the floats were scrapped. After that, Anaheim are understandably reluctant to let MSEP come to Orlando - but ultimately will have to if told to by D’Amaro.

Would be nice. But I too have extreme doubts.

I would LOVE to see Spectromagic again. Just wondering, does anyone know where it is?

I would LOVE to see Spectromagic again. Just wondering, does anyone know where it is? I wasn’t kidding when I said it was scrapped. Instead of putting the floats into the sheds at MK they were left Nader giant tarpaulin tents, which meant they rusted in the humid conditions. And consequently the floats were deemed beyond repair.

I doubt it but I'd love MSEP like parade to return. Not a fan of Spectro at all though so rather they lean fun old school.

Spectromagic was my favorite and I am still so mad they destroyed it. I would love to see a nighttime parade come back though.

I know folks love these, but I'm not a fan of the parades as they make navigation harder in that part of the park. I would never send an opinion to Disney about not wanting them as I know that they're so very popular. But, while they happen to be gone, it's generally better for us.
Cheers.

MSEP is my forever favorite. MK isn’t the same at night without it. That’s one of the things I enjoy most about MVMCP, the parade. Hope to see a true”nighttime” parade return to the Kingdom at some point, but I’m not holding my breath.

I purchased tickets for MVMCP this year (first time ever) and I kind of forgot they have a parade so when I read this thread I got very excited! DD was so tiny when the EP went away that I don't think she ever remembers a nighttime parade.

But really easier for getting shorter wait times for rides.

But really easier for getting shorter wait times for rides. Good point. If one can be positioned in advance that is good. TBH, the issues we've had stem from not being aware of the parade times and being caught unaware. If we checked, we could use this to our advantage.
Cheers.

We've always enjoyed the nighttime parades (I'd pick Spectro over MSEP); we sat on those brick planters in front of HoP, got there early; the kids would ride HM or something in Fantasyland. The downside to that spot was getting from there to somewhere we could see the fireworks. We'd usually take the route through fantasyland, to the teacups, then hang a right and make our way to anywhere in front of the castle we could find some space.
Although I do miss those parades, it is much easier now to just get a fireworks spot 60-90 minutes before they start.

One NYE long, long ago, my sister and I were driving the cars on the Autopia (or whatever the Tomorrowland cars are called in WDW) as the finale for the fireworks show was happening. It was something to behold, that's for sure.
Good view, if you can get it!
