Congratulations! Sounds like you had a wonderful trip! I have 9 months to go until I retire. A celebration trip sounds like a good idea. Thanks for sharing! Thanks, it was. Those 9 months will pass before you know it. I would, from my experience, highly recommend the celebration trip. It was so odd to not be worried about answering emails, meeting deadlines, or just general work that I always have taken on vacation with me. Odd, but so liberating.

Congratulations on your retirement. As an older friend of mine said when I first retired, "what took you so long".

No hood up for me. Never really do as it blocks hearing. But I will have my icy cold hands covered lol Funny thing was when it was 95 out and super sunny, about 2pm waiting by the boat dock, my son said something like "mama, you're making me hot" just by him looking at me. I took the hoodie off and he felt my arm and was like "you're not even warm" I just run cold I guess I get that, some people just run cold as you say, or come from a very hot environment. My confusion was that the majority of those I was speaking of were in their 20s or 30s - I guess, in the immortal words of Fernando, It's better to look good than to feel good (if an SNL or Billy Crystal fan you will get this). I am in my mid 40s so not young but not old. Given my height and usual outfit, you'd probably guess 30s as most people do. I'm from the midwest and live for summers where is is 90-100 though. Hate fall and winter. Happy to hang on to the 80s as long as we have LOL My family loves to tease me. I have a shirt given to me as a gift that says "Yes, I'm cold! ~me 24:7"

Thank you all for all of the well wishes. Now that I have been home for a week, it is really starting to set in and I am looking forward to the future. I do wish I stayed at SSR for another week though, really would recommend that anyone retiring take some time and just enjoy each day, no matter where your travels (or not) take you. Cheers.

Congrats on your retirement!!!
AS they say.....You are living the dream!
I still have awhile before I can call it a career, maybe 8 years......5 years if you ask Robin.
Glad that you had a great trip. Looks like many more long trips in your future.
