Just read that these boats will only operate after 3:00 pm. It did say afternoon and evening service in what I read. |

The larger boat went from WL to CR at least one time, for us and we didn’t even ask. Mom had her scooter while staying at VWL. We had a ressie at Chef Mickey so we were going to take the larger boat to MK and then “scoot” down the path to the Contemporary. We waited and waited for the large boat to show while everyone else walked past us getting on the smaller boats, which I believe three had shown in that time period. Once the large one finally showed, the Captain said “I hear you’ve been waiting a while” (which we never said anything as we are go with the flow types) so thinking the smaller boats mentioned us waiting. So in conversation he asked if we were excited about finally getting to MK. Told him we weren’t going there but having dinner at the Contemporary. Then was the surprise. He got on the speaker and said “Folks, I hope you don’t mind if we take a few extra minutes and drop a special group off at an extra stop” and then he headed towards the Contemporary. It totally made my Moms day, giggling all the way there. Seemed minor to most, but was a very special moment for my Mom and I was so appreciative of that.

I know these boats have been missed so this is yet another step to normalcy.
Now I really want the water taxis and the regular resort routes at the other docks to return to Disney Springs. Onward!

I never knew it was gone. So the only option to get to the MK from Fort Wilderness was the bus? This would make me not want to stay at Ft. Wilderness. they better improve the ferry route before they start selling Ft. Wilderness DVC.

But the boats that go the circular route around Bay Lake from Contemporary to WL to FW had not returned until Sunday. |

This two bus deal or bus then boat from Ft Wilderness is enough to keep me from staying there. They need to have more direct for DVC or make it much cheaper to stay. |

So Disappointing.
AS an example - Why has Disney gutted Food & Wine Festival?
I was looking at booth options for the F&WF. Honestly F&GF has it beat now IMO with more and better food options. Disney still has me a bit grumpy. I know my PVB will be up for sale but there are times when I go "meh" no thanks. I'm still really bitter about Morocco the way it is now. |

If you’re staying at Wilderness Lodge or the campgrounds you could take the boat directly to MK and then take the path to the Contemporary Resort. There will be a security check point when you get off the boat and before you’d enter MK. This would possibly be the best (and most enjoyable) way to get there with a scooter.

That is what made the festival stood out from everything else. Yes. We are so disappointed that these have not returned, so much so we have not renewed our APs. F&W was more than just the food booths. Hanging on to hope that once the Celebration area of Epcot is complete these events will return. My fear though is if they do return we will be priced out. That is what made the festival stood out from everything else. Yes there was so much with F&WF that made it unique. I loved going when I could. Now it's effectively a watered down F&GF. This weekend I knew I wouldn't have time for much and when looking around I decided nothing was worth it. |
