We just got back from a stay at BCV (11/8-13).
The first thing to note is that this was not just crowded, it was CROWDED. Folks can trot out all the data they want about declining attendance, but this real-world observation did not support those data.
Multiple rides with hour waits at most parks. DHS had multiple rides with 2 hour waits at times. And, even with all those people in lines, the walkways were packed.
As crowded as I can remember ever seeing.
Some ameliorating actions:
1. We had deluxe resort extra hours at AK the day we arrived. Not much to do as the animal things are closed. But likes for FoP and Na'vi got short. So that was worth it.
2. Rope drop at MK still works wonders, even at times like this. We did 7DMT, Pooh and BTMRR with virtually no wait. We did go to get coffee before Jingle Cruise, and that was a mistake. It went from like 35-70 minutes.
3. VQ for tron seems not that hard, or I just got luckier than other queues. I never got RotR when it was VQ in multiple tries, nut now 3:3 on Tron. It does seem to break down, so a BG 66 didn't go until after 3. The plus side is that, when it reopened, it was like 5 minutes to get on the ride.
4. We were able to meet up with ermindy1133 on Sunday, at MK (yes, helenabear , we were actually at MK!  ). and that was fun as it always is to meet MO peeps.

6. It was freakin' crowded.

I'm laughing only because of your MK comment  someone may have texted about meeting you and the response may have been "at MK"  Sorry you met with more crowds though. We had way more in March but definitely significantly less in May/June and Oct. I agree VQs now don't seem too bad. |

Were the AK extra hours early or late hours? Just curious.
Glad to hear that VQ aren’t bad. Hopefully, they’ll both still be in place for my February visit. Otherwise, I will be stuck with ILL on both.
Sorry to hear about the crowds. I hear “empty” a lot, but also “super crowded.” Is there no in between?

Glad you had a nice trip despite the crowds. It might have been Jersey Week. We've gone during this time of a year a few times for DS's birthday and it was Jersey Week and large crowds.

Most people would take Dramamine but of course you had Zofran!  Well… Dramamine is ideally taken BEFORE nausea hits. I’m not sure how effective it is after the fact. And of COURSE I have Zofran… I had to laugh at "a little Zofran fixed that right up!". Most people would take Dramamine but of course you had Zofran! Truth! That’s how we roll. I have a stash that is like gold for the family when needed. I’m sure she has a nurse’s medicine cabinet! You know it! Zofran tablets AND ODTs. Phenergan for dire emergencies… |

The week before was a little less crowded. One day in particular, November 1st, was amazing at MK. I slept in, so we didn't get to MK until 9. We rode Jungle Cruise, Pirates, Big Thunder, Haunted Mansion, 7 Dwarfs, Buzz Lightyear, and People Mover all by 10:30. I've never been to MK when that was possible.

Were the AK extra hours early or late hours? Just curious. These are the extended evening hours available to folks staying at deluxe resorts. Typically two extra hours. These are separate from the morning early open for all onsite guests.

Yep Veterans Day was observed Friday mixed with Jersey week. Bad combo.
My friend who lost it on Star Tours said pills for motion sickness are pretty useless after the fact. Wish we had zofran and other stuff back then (or wish someone had remembered to take motion sickness pills in the first place)
